GRE Vocabulary Flashcards + App (Kaplan Test Prep)

I am a re-entering adult student and it has been almost a decade since I have attempted University-level coursework. These flashcards contain words that I didn't even know existed. Not only do these words prepare you for the GRE, but they also expand your vocabulary in ways that you'll never imagine. There are so many eloquent words that I can now use in my school work or to express myself in daily conversations. It amazes me how the misuse of the english language has become normative in our society. I was one of the worst etymological offenders I knew, but now my loquacious malediction has been abated thanks to these cards! Buy yours today to study for the GRE or to improve on your level of discourse.

Even though there weren't as many words to review with this flashcard set as there were on the apps I downloaded on my phone, I felt like it really helped me to have review materials that were separated from technology. This flash card set has a brief definition for each word, an example sentence, phonetic pronunciation and related words (synonyms). It certainly isn't comprehensive and while it isn't the only tool that I would use to prepare for the GRE vocabulary I was very satisfied with it and felt that it was a great aid to me. I will reccomend it to friends who are prepping for this test.

They're easy to read and a FANTASTIC size. They're really comprehensive as well. I really like how it includes pronunciation and an example sentence. It really helps. The paper is slick, kind of like thicker magazine paper. They're also pretty thin, but I don't really care. They are practical tools for studying and they haven't broken or torn.

I got these to prep for the GRE with every intention of learning every single card. Full disclosure, I am not the most studious person. The stack was pretty thick and I got a little intimidated by it - didn't make it past the C's. HOWEVER, the app was awesome. I was able to get through smaller lists and mark the ones I knew and those I needed to work on. I recommend these to anyone determined enough to make it through!

I never though I would need this much help with my vocabulary but as soon as I took a practice GRE and did worse on the Vocabulary section than the math section, These cards are great on their own but where this takes the cake is the App that you are able to download as a result of this purchase. All the same cards but on an app on my phone so when I have some free time I can go over them. This is a great product for those of us who need help on the GRE but a word of caution, if you really do need these cards as a help, prepare yourself now. You need to be prepared to feel dumb as you start to look at these cards as many of the words are antiquated and no longer in use but for some reason we are tested on in a standardized format. This is a must have in prep tools for the GRE.

In terms of content, these are totally fine and good. They give you the word, pronunciation, definition, example and synonyms. Neat. But the quality of the cards really leaves something to be desired. They are printed on thin paper which is easily damaged, unlike most flashcard which are actually like... cards. Mine were also sloppily cut, so the cards have rough edges and stick together horribly, as well as leaving tiny paper residue everytime I touch them. I have to study over a hard surface or there will be tiny paper scraps embedded in the furniture. The box mine arrived in was also somewhat damaged, with crushed corners and a bent lid. The cards are also a lot smaller than I expected, with the print being a fairly small font to match, so that might be relevant if you have trouble with small print.

These flash cards were fantastic for studying GRE vocabulary. The purchase also comes with an app which helps organizer the cards and show your progress as you study. I often found myself flipping through flash cards in my free time and the app is a great way to study whenever you get a quick second. I would highly recommend these flashcards if you're not confident of GRE vocabulary.

The app is worth the entire purchase cost! Whenever I'm standing in line waiting to check out, or waiting on an appointment, I can open the app and study on the go. The app let's you separate words into three categories: words that you know well, know somewhat well, or don't know at all. Then you can make different decks of cards based on those categories, so you can hone in on the words you need most. It's really convenient for focused study and busy schedules!

The Kaplan gre flashcards are not only limited to 500 words but it also contains the synonyms (minimum 10)of each of the 500 vocabulary words which takes the par number of words upto 1000+.So it's very fruitful in investing money in this product for those who either wish to increase their vocabulary or to prepare for the gre revised general exam.

I do not like how small these cards are. Plus, other companies have much better flashcards with more detail and helpful tips to remembering the words. I was unimpressed by this product.
