Excellent quality tool
Great ratchet. It has the drive head size of a 1/4 inch ratchet with a 3/8 inch drive. Great ergonomics and finish associated with the tool, it fits my hand well. Tone makes great specialty tools. Perfect for working in small areas - I will use it to replace spark plugs on wife’s Subaru (limited space with Subie boxer engine). Currently replacing all of my old Craftsman tool (that I inherited) with Tone Tools (Japan) and Koken USA (Japan) tools . I personally like Koken sockets and ratchets a bit more than Tone, however the Koken selection of other tools is limited compared to Tone; and right now you can get these high quality Japanese tools (from both companies) at good prices as the yen is down against the US dollar. The only thing that I don’t like, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the tool, is that I think some of Tone tools may be made in their facility in Vietnam instead of Japan - there are no markings of national origin on the ratchet itself. However, and again that has nothing to do with the fit, form, function or quality of the tool. I really like the ratchet (Note: If it makes a difference to anyone, their Japanese competitor, Koken Tools USA are all made in Japan, and quite a bit more expensive, however).

TONE Ratchet Handle Compact Head (Socket Hold Type) RH3CH 3/8" Inch Drive
I have a Subaru Forester and wanted to change the spark plugs. Believe me, you need small ratchets to do this job. This is a 3/8" drive ratchet with a 1/4" body (small). Absolute necessity for working in tight places. Good quality too. Highly recommend if you're working in tight places.

3/8" drive in a 1/4" drive body
First of all, this ratchet is a 1/4" body with a 3/8" drive. The head on this ratchet is very compact, its diameter is about the same as my USA craftsman 14mm socket, another way to put the size into perspective, it's the same size as my thumb, I'm still amazed by it's compactness. The total length is 5.75" so it's pretty short. The ratcheting mechanism is smooth and the back drag is okay, not the best but definitely not the worse, about average. The satin chrome finish is much nicer than what the photos show and there are no rough areas left from forging. The drive head to body fitment is average tightness, again not the best but not the worse. The small switch lever is flush against the body and is easy to use. To disengage the ball detent, you need to push the button pretty far in past flush, I don't really see this as a negative and more of a design quirk as the button doesnt protrude that much and being that it's a 1/4" body with 3/8" drive, the drive and quick release mechanism is smaller than in a 3/8" body ratchet. It could also be purposely designed this way to prevent accidental bumps and dropping the socket. It's something you will have to get used to but it should hopefully operate better once it gets used more and broken in.

As described works good.
Works as advertised super small size exactly what I needed.

Great quality ratchet
Must have for Subaru spark plugs. The driver side rear plug is basically pinned against a rail, no room for a universal. This ratchet, a couple 1 in extensions, and a swivel joint spark plug socket made the spark plug change doable.

Nice product
If you’re a tech just buy it. You’ll be glad you did someday

Extremely small head for a 3/8 drive
I am surprised at just how small the head size is. It is not just smaller than a 3/8 size, but smaller compared to a 1/4 head. It should really help is getting into very tight areas. I bought this to replace spark plugs on a Subaru BRZ which is a bit short on space for this task. It looks to be well made, but I suspect not intended for high torque uses.

Every Toolbox Needs One of These!
I have a Duralast 3/8" ratchet that is the size of a thin 1/4" ratchet and wanted another. It's one of the most used tools in my toolbox. Unfortunately, they discontinued them and I thought I was out of luck. They sell used for many times their original price, no thanks. Then I found this Tone! It's nearly identical. If anything, it's even a little nicer! The finish quality is excellent, probably owing to the fact it's made in Japan. It's the exact same size as the Duralast I love. It will fit into just about anywhere. The length of the handle is enough for leverage in most cases, but also enough to prevent overzealous torquing of bolts. You can easily hot around 30ft/lbs without strain, and I find that's about where I want 90% of the bolts I install. There are plenty of teeth for a smooth feel and for tight areas. The head is about the same width as a 13mm or 1/2" socket! The Duralast version of this design is near legendary for those who know. This one just flies under the radar and is possibly better. Highly recommended!

Excellent compact 3/8” ratchet. Very low back drag. Very tight machining tolerances and nice satin finish. Push button release is excellent. Highly recommend. This is my go to ratchet.

Tone Tools are beautifully made and finished as you would expect from a Japanese maker. This little ratchet will sneak into compact areas perfectly when teamed up with some low profile sockets. Am definitely buying more of their products.

ネプロスの方がギアが細かくて、空転トルクが小さい けれども、この値段なら納得の出来
