Great product, works as advertised!
Works great right out of the box as advertised! I use the SPD-SX to control it and the Remo Silent Stroke head. Rim & head trigger perfectly and independently. I had to play with the sensitivity and threshold when I used the trigger on a regular drumhead, there were some sympathetic vibrations that caused rogue triggers but once dialed in all was well. I doubted triggering based on lower quality models, but Roland made a great product here. Two more RT 30H triggers and I've got a full hybrid kit!

Solid, accurate trigger great for use with any electronic drum module.
I bought this trigger to use with the Roland TD-27 electronic drum module. It works great. There is even a setting in the module for this specific trigger, so it is very easy to install (mounts to the drum hoop) and set up in the system. Triggering is solid. No issues with false triggering.

Works With My Yamaha DTX502, I Just Need To Learn To Adjust My Module
I am still learning how to tune my DTX502 to use this but it seems very sensitive and works well. The problem I have it that the rimshot seems much louder than an impact directly to the head. I think it's a matter of adjusting the gain in my drum module. It's understandable because the metal rim transmits vibrations more easily than a drum head (membrane surface). This trigger seems VERY sensitive!!!

Great product
I used this in place of my dual trigger that failed. This was much easier than changing the internal trigger on my Roland electric drum pad.
W**!
It works.
I would give it five stars but I think Roland could sell these for a little cheaper. I was glad to find somebody discounting the price a little bit on Amazon. Don't pay full price for this if you can help it. This does fit my standard every day run of the mill drum set. I'm using a Pearl Export from the early 2000s and it fits on the snare drum rim fine. I've heard that these don't work for mesh heads, but for standard coated heads it works just fine. You may need to adjust the sensitivity on your brain but other than that the default settings on your midi device should work just fine. The dual trigger works perfectly. It detects the rimshot and fires both triggers when appropriately necessary. You only get what you pay for and these are good. I would suggest buying one and testing it first. If it doesn't work I'm pretty sure you could return it as long as you didn't mangle it up. Installation is a breeze. These come on and off very easy. Update, I ordered three more of these and the one for the kick. Your brain may not support dual trigger on all inputs. Single triggers should work just fine if your brain doesn't support dual trigger for tom inputs. Even though I think the default on mine is dual triggers off on the tom inputs I bought all dual triggers anyway. I'll try and figure out if my device can be set up for dual trigger on the toms as well as the snare. An updated brain or other MIDI device should allow me to enhance my sounds having all dual trigger. The kick drum is on order. I suspect it'll work as they say it does. Again, these are very easy to take on and off. I'm using a Pearl Export kit from around the year 2000. Very standard size rims. They do rattle a little bit with no pads on the heads. I use my Evans pads for practice with headphones to hear the trigger. They work really well that way. If you're getting some rattling on your mesh head or your regular skins I suspect the heads are vibrating and resonating a lot. These triggers are very sensitive, even with the sensitivity turned down low they might rattle a little bit. My suggestion is try throwing something over the drum like a t-shirt or a towel to mute the skins. If you're wanting to use them to enhance your live performance, a few pieces of heavy duct tape on your heads will probably help keep your heads from over resonating and causing multiple triggers. That's what I did for my snare drum. That work just fine.

Works great
Definitely recommend. Takes a lot of experimentation to get it working well with toms, but still possible.

Best of both worlds!
I use the Roland RT-30HR Dual Zone Trigger and Roland RT-30K Kick Drum Trigger and love being able to change the snare and kick sound on the fly! Going from an 808 snare to a big ol' fat 80's sounding pop kills! The blend between acoustic and electronic is beautiful. No matter what size room you're in, it adds a punch to kick and a pop to the snare! It changes the sound just enough to feel and hear the difference, but the overall sound and feel remains in the warm acoustic realm.

Great trigger with the dual zone.
Roland makes great triggers.Having a dual zone is a nice feature.I just have to do some adjusting on my alesis drum pad.Im getting crossover from my hanging tom when I hit the tom.It triggers the snare trigger.
