Son Gaepi's art is very clean-looking, detailed, and just great in style-- While the plot made things even better. The slow but functioning build up between Jack and D's relationship was pretty heartwarming at the very end, and the story alone for me was overall wonderful. If you aren't a fan of the comic-like style, I suggest you read the original novel, but if you are, I'm sure you'll appreciate the art just as much as I have. I love just picking it up out of my bookshelf at random and flipping through the pages, reading each bit as happy as could be. Review: SO MUCH! - I did not expect such a thick book when it came in the mail. What a great story with lots of exciting action as well as romantic scenes! I think some aspects could have been played for more drama, some tweaks to dialogue, but overall I was very happy with this one. It's not a traditional yaoi story, and its great to see a different kind of love story. Very enjoyable!

Romantic Action
I enjoyed it. This was a fun and fast read with a sweet romance that tied it all together. Just enough violence, intimate moments, and action to keep everything going.

Good but would have preferred more.
I liked the story and the art was amazing. But...I feel like it was a bit rushed and that the sex scene was out of nowhere. At least the first one, all the other sex scenes were well paced out. I would have preferred more flashbacks for both characters. And one more fluff moment before the first sex scene if that makes sense. Other then that the bloody scenes were amazing and so was the ending. Fluffy to my liking. 🥺 And knowing that Jack waited about one year for him made my heart beat again. 💜

manga good!!!
i read the original novel seems like ages ago. have read it maybe 5 times now. and then i saw just the other day that there was a graphic novel. i got it immediately, wondering if there was any way a manga could convey the intensity between jack and d - and the terror of the scary parts. and how close to the original would it be? the answer is yes, it can be done and it has been done in an excellent manner. if i have any problems with the manga, it was at the end it was kinda truncated. would have liked to see what jack's home in columbus looked like, what the bookshop he worked in looked like, and the clever and convoluted - but ultimately successful - way d got the bad guys out of the way - forever. but that's just quibbling. son gaepi does a great job of bringing seville's book into a manga. loved it! and definitely worth reading before or after reading the novel. you deserve both.

Must read. One of the best BL works currently our there
This is not a “manga” in the traditional sense of the way. When I say this I don’t refer to the author being an American, but the fact that this story feels like an action movie, with very believable characters. The BL tropes are well-adapted, without any of the toxicity that some mangas present. I seriously encourage people to give this one a go.

The art was cute and had a “few” smexy scenes. Unfortunately the art was too close to the middle that it has also hard to read. I had to snap the book outward and some of them were glued together, so the art came away 😞 I did enjoy the cute story. But the few reasons I gave it only 3 stars was because, I didn't feel the connection between them. It may have been because it is a graphic novel, but there was no timeline of how long it had been, who was meant to be doing the thinking parts. Overall it lacked a lot of what was actually going on honestly. The art can be dark at times and hard to know what's going on. Plus the ending felt kind of rushed I'm glad I read it because it has been a book on my TBR for many years. But it's not one l'd re-read or obsess over for years to come
