excellent taste
Excellent product. I had bought it before from a food chain store. Also lucky I bought 2 containers on March 31. Went back one day later to buy 2 more as a gift and price had quickly gone back up.

High Protein and Great Flavor Vanilla Powder
Our favorite tasting protein powder! Easily adds to pancakes mixes, smoothies and dissolves really well. High protein is great for my toddler, we add it into a lot of his pancakes and muffin mixes. The quality is fantastic! No crazy ingredients you haven’t heard of!

Taste fine
Was almost hesitant of buying this product due to the mixed reviews, but I’m glad i did. I mix the vanilla flavor protein powder with half a banana and four strawberries with ice and it tastes fine. Like my mom always said - “what’s good for you will never taste great”. Remember this product has no sugar/ added sugars- compared to others that do. When it comes to ingredients….THIS IS THE BEST I’VE FOUND!

A little too sweet for me.
I am not crazy about the taste. For me it tastes a little too sweet but I do not eat a lot of sugar. I would’ve preferred it to be unsweetened and allow me to choose what I prefer to use as sweetener & how much. If you eat a lot of sugar then maybe this will not be so sweet for you.

Get the facts - love the product!
I do want to recommend potential buyers to do their research and not just read the reviews. While it is true there was lead, cadmium and tungsten found in this product, these are also found in many plants - its naturally occurring. The company DID refute the allegations & provide a formal response. "To better understand the issues at hand, it's important to note that lead and cadmium are commonly tested in all foods and food supplements manufactured and sold in the United States. These metals are classified as minerals. Minerals, vitamins and other nutrients are commonly found in our environment, including air, water and soil. As a result, people who consume plant products as the majority of their diet consume more soil based nutrients including minerals (and metals) when compared to people who consume primarily animal based diets." "Tungsten is not a well-studied mineral. Tungsten is a naturally occurring mineral, present in air, water and soil. It is rarely tested. In fact, it's almost impossible to find a lab certified for tungsten testing. We note that there are no regulations for tungsten content in food, water or other common products in the US, Canada or Europe. Tungsten's safety has never been a concern of any government or scientific body. Our Ph.D's have considered these trace amounts of tungsten are safe for human health." Rather than being scared off by accusations of lethal toxins - I prefer to research and become an informed consumer. **Update** I have been using this protein powder for a month now & love it!! I mix it with almond milk & 2tbl Slim PB (powdered peanut butter) and it tastes great. The TEXTURE is chalky but not the taste. I'm currently following the alkaline/acidity diet & this is great product to use since it does not have an animal products.

Does NOT blend!
So incredibly gritty. Did not blend well at all. Horrible taste and coated your tongue. Image grinding up a large amount of dried beans and trying to blend them into your smoothie. High lead content as well. Did not research that prior to purchase. I ended up throwing it away after a week of suffering through my smoothie each morning. I returned to the whey protein powder I have been using for the past 7 years. I was hoping to find a plant based powder, but this one was definitely not it.

Flavor is okay, but texture is kinda gritty. Recommend for smoothies instead.
Flavor is alright (I've tried both chocolate and vanilla). However, there is a gritty texture. It kind of reminds me of watered down cream of wheat. That said, I do think it would be okay in a smoothie. I've done that in the past with the vanilla and the texture isn't as noticeable and flavor is still there. I'm going to try the same with the chocolate one. I probably would purchase again if I had to, but in all honesty, I like the Flavcity smoothie powders better as they aren't gritty like this brand.

Smooth, Not Too Sweet, Packed with Nutrition
I’ve been using Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein for years. I get the vanilla, and if I want chocolate, I just add cocoa powder. It is not sickening sweet. Low sugar and carb. When I’m in a hurry, I can blend it in a blender ball cup with a few ice cubes, and no lumps. I have tried dozens of protein powders. I have never found one that isn’t at least a little bit gritty and they all have a certain protein powder-y taste. The vanilla Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein can be mixed in oatmeal, baked goods, plain Greek yogurt as well as smoothies, and doesn’t have an over-powering flavor. I find all chocolate protein powders taste weird, and if they don’t, there is too much sugar. That’s why I add cocoa powder if I want chocolate (favorite cocoa powder is Guittard in the little red canister. Worth the money. Compare the taste, straight, with cheaper brands. No bitterness). I like the chai, also, but less versatile than the vanilla. I can add my own chai spices to the vanilla….so I get vanilla, chocolate and chai and only have to buy and store one canister. (Best price is on vitacost website when there is a sale. )

Great product. This is my preferred choice of protein. I have been using this for some time now and I do notice I recover much quicker from training when I take this. I love the ingredients in this product and as I am not a fan of animal based protein products this ticks all my boxes. The new formula is not grainy but it does froth up a bit more. I often just mix with water and its fine in texture and taste. I only wish it came in a bigger economy pack. As it doesn't have any artifical sweetners or added sugars you may not find it as sweet as some of those other products on the market but for me the content is more important so it doesn't bother me. Arguably the best vegan protein powder on the market. Only downside is serving's have reduced while price hasn't and sometimes it goes up too high in price to be economical. When that happens I have to buy sun warrior or bulk powders vegan protein, but garden of life plant based protein is my number 1 without a doubt
