The Perfect Kitchen [Sallick, Barbara] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Perfect Kitchen Review: Lovely Design Book - This is a lovely book, well organized, with pages and pages of inspiration photos and descriptions of design choices and rationales. I love the section on the author's own kitchen called "Practicing What I Preach," where she demonstrates how she put into action the design principles she shows throughout the book. I ordered from a used book seller on desertcart and received a copy in beautiful condition, minus the dust jacket. The cover of the book is a perfectly neutral warm gray color with the title printed in soft white on both the spine and the front, so it's perfect for display on a shelf or in a stack of other design books. Review: Not just your average Pinterest rehash... - I'm a Kitchen and Bath Designer and I'm always looking for beautiful design examples for my clients. I do not want content readily available on Pinterest. Why spend $50 for something you can get for free, right? This book is not only gorgeous, but full of new and attainable designs. There is color, there are variations in kitchen size. Some are open concept, some are not. WELL DONE!!! My only gripe is that the author did not do her homework regarding the history of the kitchen. Flow and function were actually a concern of the middle-late 1800s, although it was slow to progress because of economical or domestic help reasons. That being said, the book deserves 5 stars purely for its originality and variety. (Don't worry - this book is NOT dominated by white subway tile, although, being a classic element, it is featured throughout.) I would classify the content as classy, elegant, and fresh transitional with a bit of modern and industrial added for flavor. A book for everyone.

great DESIGN book
I bought a slew of kitchen idea/design books and love this one the most. I like the photos, yes, but also the narrative. I particularly like the insets where famous chefs and food writers talk about their own "perfect" kitchens and what they love most about or want most from the room. Great for helping me understand what I like and what I do not.

An absolutely beautifully designed book! Classic all the way! A must before you design any kitchen!

Do not buy this book. Ignore the other reviews, this is just a collection of photos of predominantly North American kitchens that have no relevance to people in the UK unless your trying to create a US style kitchen. The entire lighting section is 123 words in a 270 page book! You will get more information on kitchen design in a B&Q kitchen catalogue. Save yourself £30 and go on Pinterest and pick up a home renovation and DIY magazine for tips on kitchen design. Both will be far more useful than this book.

Arrived damaged inside the plastic wrap and shipping box. Expensive, designer book with poor handling by Amazon

‘UK buyers avoid’ I was hoping for insights and a new level of inspiration. What I got was a lot of pretty pictures of overweight and out of date US kitchens. From a European interior style perspective the book already feels 20 years old. Had I chance to view before buying I wouldn’t have. A very literal waste of money
