Good taste
Different taste from traditional miso sweet. Little bit sweeter. It was very good tasting.

Tastes Good.
Tastes good. Package arrived damaged and leaking. Just flopping around in the outer carton.

Great miso paste for fish marinade
Used this paste to make miso fish. Cooked both salmon and mackerel and let me tell you, it was amazing. Made the marinade with some soy sauce, rice wine, sake. Then let the fish marinade for 4 hours or so. Baked in the oven and it was fantastic.

Torn package with leaking paste
A torn package with leaking miso paste was delivered. The shipper knew the package had cracks with leaking paste as it was wrapped in another plastic. Very unprofessional !! The product is very good (5 stars) as I have used it before.

Not salty
Many brands of shiro miso are extremely salty making some recipes quite unpleasanty salty to eat. This one is mild and less salty, making most recipes really good and there's no guessing if you've used too much.

Nice Addition to Your Miso Collection!
After many trials and tribulations of dealing with the stupidity of the local post-office, my miso paste finally showed up! If you're used to shiro (white) miso, this is a little different as it's not quite as salty and has a sweeter flavor. Hikari is a solid brand—I've used their miso pastes in just about any dish that needs a umami boost. Since I'm at work right now, I'm really looking forward to trying this out and see how it differs from the normal white variety.
