Rickenbacker

I have three Ric’s now, and am fascinated by the company.. this book had awesome amounts of info.. eating it up!

This was my "go-to" Rickenbacker bible since the 80's. I bought it when it first came out and then got another copy as my original is quite worn out.. It provides insight on one of the best guitar brands out there Granted there have been other RIC books on the market, but this one is the original. Nice pix too!

If you own a Rickenbacker, you should have this book. Lots of cool pics, and written history of the company.

I am a true Rickenbacker Fan and Tony Bacon does cover the company in good detail. I would recommend any guitar book written by Tony Bacon.

I found the strengths of the book were, how it described it's history / the creation of the company in the 1930's ( under " Electro String " ) both before and after World War Two ( mid-late 1950's onwards );the wealth of COLOUR photo's of mid-late 1950's trade shows and models ( women holding the guitars ) showing a lot of both well known and lesser known guitar models ( many early solid body guitars that were later discontinued - plus their colour schemes such as " Cloverfield Green " and " Blonde " ). This also includes the Bass guitars. Also good info on all the models. It's weaknesses aren't many, it needs a bit of an overhaul / error check and an update on currently available models / colour schemes. I would have liked to have seen more colour photo's as many B&W photo's are available in colour on Rickenbacker's website. Plus it would have been nice to have a detailed drawing / explanation of the controls on a guitar ( tone, pickups, volume ) and the different types ( of pickups ) and how they evolved. This may mean creating 2 x volumes or parts ( Part 1 and Part 2 ). Overall a great book !

If you're a Rickenbaker guitar fan your going to love this book. I bought it to read about the early history and the development of their lap steel guitars, but found the rest of the book to be just as interesting. The illustrations and pictures really helped tell the Rickenbaker story

As I am a lapsteel player I studied the book and read from front to the back, I own several Rikenbackers to play on. for me a SUPER BOOK if you love guitars, those frying pans where the first electric guitar. There is also a book out on the history of the Rickenbacker 12 string also very good for the real guitar lover

Sehr detaillierte Abhandlung. Ich habe es noch nicht zuende gelesen, aber bisher war es informativ und unterhaltsam. Als an Rockmusik interessierter Mensch ist das ein Highlight.
