A good product at a fair price
The karaoke came without any damages and all of the parts were there. Assembly was straightforward without any real complications. I think anybody with even a modicum of experience can put this together. So much for that part, the best part is how my cat enjoys this catio. My cat loves it! He begs every morning for me to put them out into the cat house. He enjoys the sights, sounds and smells of being outside without any of the problems associated with being an outside cat. Other Neighborhood Cats come up and visit him safely, no hissing or fighting just visitation. In short I'm very pleased with this and glad that I bought it

durable
i bought 2 pieces and combined them together..it is a very sturdy cage.easy to assemble.you can get by with a phillips head screw driver, but if you have soft hands, you will want a drill with a phillips head attachment. my hands are calysed and still were a little sore.lol. it comes with pre drilled holes that helps out a lot. the only thing they could do to make it a little easier,,would be to label the pieces with a sticker or something, other than that i have no complaints..having wheels is a big plus for moving it around.. i bought this for my 7 foot boa constrictor knowing i would have to put plexiglass over most of the wired mesh to stop injury of my snake from pushing on it..but it is a steal for the size of the cage,, even after adding plexiglass..a cage for reptiles this large will cost up to 2 thousand if not more. as for cats it would be perfect for a enclosure when needed. all in all im very happy with the enclosure/cage. very sturdy, well priced.if your looking for a large reptile cage buy 2 and combine them together even if you need to make adjustments like plexiglass. it works very well. as for the little sliding doors,i just screwed 2 screws above the doors,no problems at all. you dont need them because of the large front doors gives easy access. when you combine them together,it will say to leave the 2 top sides out so your animal has access to both sides. if your using it for a reptile, the 2 bottom side pieces on the connecting side ,the instructions say to keep them part of the cage for sturdiness, and you should. but if you want your reptile etc. to have access from the bottom side side to,just remove the screen and just use the frame,i did and it works very well and sturdy. for all athers.im not a cat owner, but im positive this would be a good sturdy enclosure when needed. im very happy with the purchase.

Exceptional value for the money
Let's start with the WOOD....it's incredibly lightweight and the instruction manual states it's "FIR". Other reviewers state it's "painted", well, that depends on what one calls "painted". Yes, all the pieces have been coated but the process is called "washed", not painted. For those who aren't familiar with "washed", it's a quick coating of water and paint to give the piece the paint color but not the paint coverage and protection. It's a quick technique appropriate for certain situations. I clear coat sealed each piece, with water seal, before assembling the unit. I don't plan to leave outside in wet weather, I'm positive it wouldn't last long getting wet and being subject to wet of any kind. I also have a tarp ready should a storm pop up unexpected. ASSEMBLY. Instructions recommend 2 people and admittedly, some steps would have been easier with another set of hands, however, it IS possible to assemble it by yourself. I'm a 65 y.o. retired female contractor, with obvious muscle loss due to age but handling the pieces was super easy. The pre-drilled holes match up nicely, the pieces are lettered/numbered clearly, minimal tools required and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. It's a great little "hut" for your felines. It's substantial for cats but I don't suggest putting your weight on the bottom floor of the unit. The included wheels roll nicely. I've moved it all around my concrete and up the 1" ledge into my garage without any issues. One of the shelves, the one at the bottom of the top door opening, does not show being screwed down, just lays loose on bracing....I did not like that thinking a jump from the platform above may cause the edge to go down, which would cause the other side to fly up, leave the bracing, causing the cat to flip and land in the bottom, so I screwed each side at an angle, into the outer framing. ROOF... the roof is a tad bit heavy but manageable and covered with a tar-like overlay. It looks to be water repellant because of the tar covering, however, the wood around is the same light weight, washed Fir, that won't withstand the wet elements for any length of time. I wanted my cat to be able to access the catio from a window but the cute little lift up doors didn't match up to any windows, so I had to improvise, modify the top front door, with an opening that would line up with my desired window. I cut scrap I had to assemble 2 identical, mitered frames. I removed the door so I could lay it flat and stapled the wire mesh to the outside mitered frame. I then screwed the other frame to the stapled frame. Next, I snipped out the wire mesh...VIOLA....an opening. I installed a hinged door to the frame so I could close up the hole if I wanted to roll the unit to another location, with my cat inside. I also added corner bracing for another platform and did not screw on the back of the included shelter box so my cat could see out both ends, right out the window hole exit. Overall, I'm pleased with this catio. I certainly could not have built it for what it cost. It does seem flimsy early on during the assembly however, sturdies up as more pieces are added. Not sure how long it would last being exposed to wet weather, so I'll be rolling it into the garage to hopefully extend the life of the unit. It's a really good deal, even with the shipping cost. My cat climbs the wired sides, doesn't understand why he's confined, being able to see and hear everything so clearly but can't get thru that wire barrier. He does enjoy watching the bird action going in and out of the bird house right beside his "hut". I do think he likes his new enclosure much better than watching from inside the house.

Amateurs can put together!
My husband and I are definitely not handy! But we were able to put this together with our drill using a couple different size attachments. The pieces were marked well with numbers and the directions were easy to follow. We watched a video that was available, and we did learn one thing about two screws, potentially hitting one another when putting the wheels on. Knowing that, we were able to avoid the problem. We think this is a really sturdy unit, especially for the price. It has two small doors, top and bottom and two large opening doors. We enjoy being able to have our kitty out on the patio with us when we're out there, so she's not meowing about being left behind. We were used to having an indoor outdoor cat who had the freedom to explore. Unfortunately, we lost her to a coyote and decided to do an indoor only cat. But this at least gives her the opportunity to watch birds and butterflies and listen to all the sounds and smell all the smells so she has some additional stimulation. Recommend this product.

Indoor cat becomes outdoor cat - Safely!
My cat is obsessed! She’s an indoor cat but has recently been trying to get in the backyard. While our yard is fenced in, I’m worried about the hawks. Not anymore though! It’s sturdy. It looks great. I will say, some of the wood split when I screwed in some screws but that could have just been me being over enthusiastic with the power drill. 10/10. Would recommend!

It would be ok to keep a chinchilla or a dwarf rabbit perhaps but a cat or a kitten absolutely no no it’s really really cheaply made wobbles about all over the place. Certain areas are not in line once it’s made really disappointed to be honest I feel it’s a waste of money.

Serviceable, but materials quality is not great, I think it will not hold up well over time, especially with active pets or outdoor exposure.

I ordered the small size for my one cat. SmalleR than expected. The cat bowl/hammock is way too small to hold my cat so definitely for cats on the smaller side. Also, the space between the shelves and shelf above it and / or roof does not seem big enough for my cat to sit up in, only lay down. Assembly was pretty easy. Took about 1.5 to 2 hrs. Having a drill is super handy. Seems sturdy. The blocks of wood that I screwed the castors into cracked in spots when the screw went through so not sure how long they will last. I like the detachable waterproof cover. Can be removed easily to provide sunlight. The locking doors seem secure. We will see how my cat likes it as he has only been in it once as I just finished building it.

Worked great for my kitty to enjoy some outside space at the cottage while staying safe. We put it against the door so he could come and go as he pleases to watch the birds and squirrels. Catio wasn't as tall as the sliding glass door so we just blocked off the top of the door. Easy assembly and easy to move around even without the wheels put on. There was a slight paint/stain odor when first removed from the box but it went away fairly quickly.

So good! Requires a bit of patience to put together (my dad took over), but the kittens have loved this. I leave the bottom door open all the time in the house so they go in and out as they please. One loves the shelf up top with the cozy box (about 4 months in that pic) and the other loves the hammock. He's getting a little big to fit in it now (almost 6 months old and 7.4lbs ) but he still makes it work daily, and whenever I can't find them in the house it's usually because they've gone to sleep in this. Things might be a bit tight for large cats, though.
