I did not know what to expect as it was "synthetic", though I did not want to spend too much as this was for a western occasion. All I can say is that the boots are soft to the touch, well made, and with a distressed look, they are STYLISH. Great buy at the price and I have worn the boots several times since purchasing due to their quality and appearance as they look like boots that would fetch an easy 400-500.00.
