Josh Groban has the best voice I have ever heard in my life!!I listen to all his songs nonstop,but this album is his best one.It far outshines his debut album and I think it's even better than Awake.The English songs are comparable,but the foriegn songs are much better in Closer.I love it so much,I'm gonna go through each song. Oceano-I love that this is the first song on the CD.It starts with a trickling piano and a quiet Josh and gradually gets louder and more filled with energy.It's perfect to wake up to in the morning.The chorus is amazing.And the words in Italian are beautiful-about the one he loves leaving him shipwrecked. My Confession-This sounds rather Spanish with the guitar and the tolling bell.Very gripping and expertly written.It's basically him telling his love how wrong he's been about her and how much he really loves her. Mi Mancherai-This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.Joshua Bell on the violin is just magical.Paired with the voice of Groban,they're unstopable.Simply gorgeous. Si Volvieras A Mi-This is my favorite foriegn language song of all time.And I've heard a lot of them.It's the only one in Spanish.The lyrics are breathtakingly heartrending.The music is so singable that I memorized the entire song-in Spanish.The climax is outstanding as they are in all his songs. When You Say You Love Me-Such a sweet song.Josh gives such effort and talent into this with the many soaring parts that leaves you stricken with amazement. Per Te-I'm not very taken with this one.There is no really outstanding part to it and the music itself isn't gripping and moving like the rest are. All'Improvviso Amore-This is a fun song,with a rather bright chorus that probably wasn't what they were going for,judging by the lyrics.Not his greatest,but I still love it. Broken Vow-Oh this is the sadest breakup song ever.With the piano accompaniment and the tragic message...It's just rips your heart out. Caruso-This seems more like an Andrea Bocelli song than one for Josh.The words run through like a flood and the music is-again-heartbreaking. Remember When It Rained-O my gosh,this is THE greatest Groban song ever.Even better than You Raise Me Up-if it's possible.The words(co-written by Josh) are beautiful and compelling.You can feel the emotion in the every word and the climax is the best part any of his songs.Stunning! Hymne a l'Amore-this song is in French.It's very pretty,but it doesn't seem to work with Josh.It's lacking someting... You Raise Me Up-Josh's most popular song-and with good reason.He uses a gospel choir which adds so much energy and emotion to the already stellar performance.Josh hits a high B flat which isn't as good as some,but it sounds better than most.A real hit! Never Let Go-Josh gets kind of off the trail with this one;experimenting,I guess.It took me a while to get used to,but when I did,I loved it. There also are two bonus tracks; Mi Morena-It's in English,by the way.This talks about his love and infatuation for this girl.Rather sensual.Not really.Just some lyrics.Very artistic,though. She's Out Of My Life-Actually,this is probably sader than Broken Vow.Beautiful piano again and heartrending to the fullest. So this is definately the greatest of his albums.Beautiful foriegn songs,heart rending break up songs,amazing climaxes,and a voice from heaven.I you want some of Josh,this is the best one to get,but you really should get Awake too.

I have a couple of Josh's albums....He's great!

In June, 2012, I suffered a spinal cord injury which left me temporarily paralyzed and unable to speak. Although not in a coma, I experienced a lost week; I remember very little of this time. My earliest memory of this stage was when I “regained” consciousness and realized that I could not speak, nor move my legs or feet. Strangely, or not strangely, Josh Groban’s rendition of You Raise Me Up flooded my mind. This song became on of my anthems for recovery. Josh Groban has an incredible voice, and this CD probably deserves five stars aside from my one reason, but this song, which is included in this release, is very special to me, and even for this reason only, I give this five stars.

I liked that what I ordered is what I received and that it arrived in a timely manner

I've always said that Josh Groban could make anything sound good. He could sing out of a phone book and I'd listen with undivided attention. (Is it sad to admit?) But this album proves what happens when the songs are just as beautiful as his voice... perfection. And nine years after it's release, this album remains my all-time favorite. However, I would like to help anyone who's looking to buy this. Because besides the regular edition , there are two other versions of this CD. As someone who's owned all three, let me clarify -- This edition, the Limited Edition, has the making-of DVD, an extended booklet, and 2 bonus tracks along with the original 13. They are: 14.) "Mi Morena" 15.) "She's Out of My Life" The other copy, the Internet-Only Edition , has the same making-of DVD (double sided, but it's the same feature on both sides), extended booklet, and 4 bonus tracks as listed below: 14.) "Mi Morena" 15.) "She's Out of My Life" 16.) "You're The Only Place" 17.) "My December" So if you're on the fence about buying the "Limited edition", go ahead and get it -- you won't be sorry. And if you're helplessly and completely in love with Josh Groban's voice like I am, don't hesitate to get the "Internet-only edition", because you'll probably end up buying it anyway. ;)

On his second album, Josh Groban's voice is rich and expressive. Over half of the songs are not in English; sadly the insert provides no translations for those lyrics. Translations can be tracked down; Google was my friend. Since there are only lyrics, I see no difference between the CD and the downloaded version. My favorites from this CD are the fluid Oceano, the romantic When You Say You Love Me, and the classic You Raise Me Up. If you like Josh Groban, you should certainly have this recording in your collection. If you enjoy solo male vocalists, you should certainly explore Josh Groban and this is a good introduction.

This is a great CD for just relaxing and letting the voice soar. Josh Groban is now known for lots of Broadway music but his early days were magical. He has a great voice but perhaps has now over saturated the market. I still bring out this CD once in a while but you can catch Josh Groban on PBS sometimes as well.

Wonderful album!, the songs singing in 3 languages is excellent . Very recommend this.

Mir fiel diese Stimme im Radio vor längerer Zeit auf, den Titel mußte ich mir erst mal zusammen suchen. Dann beim Stöbern im Portal diese CD gefunden, wo der gesuchte Titel endlich auftauchte. "You raise me up" von Josh Groban, von dem ich bisher noch nie was gehört habe. Allein für diesen Song war mir klar: diese Scheibe muß ich haben. Man könnte den Text ohne Weiteres kirchlich auffassen. Egal, ich finde seine Stimme klasse, auch wenn ich kein unbedingter Opern-Fan bin. Einige Titel sind auf Italienisch, einige in Englisch gesungen. Sie gefallen mir alle, dennoch höre ich meist so ca. 3 am Stück hintereinander, sie sind einfach zu intensiv als Dauer-Schleife, für meinen Geschmack. Mal was ganz anderes, aber gut gemacht.

Molto bello, ci sono delle belle canzoni. Io lo sto ascoltando in macchina e sono proprio soddisfatto. Lo consiglio per chi non lo avesse già comprato!
