It worked great to backup/restore BIOS on 1.8v winbond 25q64fw for a Lenovo Ideapad 330s-15arr. Laptop would not post, black screen, fans running, LED light on. Used the CH341 to read/backup current corrupt state of BIOS and then using the backup to find and copy important information. Lastly inserted the copied information into clean BIOS before writing back to chip. I had to reposition the clip a few times as it was not seated properly and my application would not detect the chip but once the connection was established it worked fine.

I'm entirely convinced that people have never actually tested this device while in use then state you should convert it to 3.3v. While flashing it is the correct 3.3v but when it's not it will show what is perceived to be "incorrect" voltages. this is the intended function of the device and works flawlessly. Yes the device the device doesn't come with instructions or software but if you're buying one of these you should already have enough knowledge where this would never be an issue. Great product that does exactly what it needs to do.

I flashed my bios because it lacked nvme modules. I followed the steps over the internet from a person who successfully did a similar mobo. I did a slight revision to the steps and bricked my mobo. This tool saved me from buying a compatible mobo but because my mobo was older and outdated it was more expensive than the newer ones! The new mobos would require a newer CPU, memory, etc. This tool raise my mobo from the dead and with the added nvme modules working! It took several attempts to clip properly to the bios chip. That was the hardest part to get it to work. I did not bother with the 5v vs 3.3v output. I measured the output pins without running the programming software it was outputing 5v but when the chip got detected it was outputing 3.3v. YMMV.

Had no issues reading and writing after I getting the right driver, even worked via USB redirect in Hyper-V. This dongle can be used in serial and parallel mode. There are also a lot of drivers with malware so be sure to get them straight from the manufacturer. For parallel mode get CH341PAR.EXE, serial, CH341SER.EXE at Nanjing Qinheng Microelectronics Co.

Used this to rip off a corrupted bios off my Steamdeck and write a clean backup. The location of the chip is conflicting with the clip so use a small pair of tweezers to pull the clips contact points back if you get a 00:00:00 erase chip time. It should take 00:06:00-00:10:00 and alot longer for programming. Amazing product as I was able to save the original bios off the chip and could verify it was corrupt when compared to the back up. Good stuff!

Make sure you get the green 1.8v stepdown or the one with the selectable voltage. Once I got this item I was able to 1 bring card back into operation and 2 easily flash the ASRock bios to use ASRock's XOC bios updated tool.

I didn’t even get to extract the bios from my computer but as soon as I clamped it and left it on for a bit, it basically bricked my computer and left it unusable, I followed tutorials and everything, yet this little spi flasher killed my computer’s bios chip and i cant access my pc anymore

This is a 341B chip not a 341A. Not a big difference, but I place a lot of importance on accurate product description. Drivers and software took some time to find, but were available. There is an issue with this board potentially sending the the wrong voltage to the 3.3v signal. There is a modification you can preform to correct this if you begin experiencing problems. I'm greatly disappointed with the test clip that was included. The spring was so strong that it would detach it's self from the chip before and during chip reading. I don't want my review to be completely negative. The primary component of this set does work mostly as described and can help you accomplish reprogramming. However, the supporting hardware is problematic.

I didn't bother trying the programmer. The accessories - the clip, adapters, and sockets - work great with my Batronix programmer, though.

I was confused at first as it's my first time using it, but with a quick YouTube video I was able to figure it out and crossflash my 7900XTX to a new higher power VBIOS!

Zero clue what it does or what the point of it is, but my son asked for and is thrilled and said it's allowing him to do what is needed between his two laptops...

The kit i received is missing an adapter from 2x4 (male narrowly spaced) to 2.4 (female wide spaced)

Worked good for my BIOS chip programming.
