Excellent shoe storage rack lightweight sturdy looks good too very pleased with it

I felt a bit daunted when I saw how many parts needed to be assembled. The assembly instructions were reasonably straightforward; all the parts were in the pack, together with a pair of gloves because, as I found out, quite a bit of staining came off the tubing when I was putting it together. Assembly didn't take very long but I found it quite fiddly adding the central rods onto the shelving as per instructions. I decided to assemble the shelving before adding to the end sections and this made it a lot easier. I was surprised how sturdy the frame is, and it looks good, too.

I've had to return it, it would be simple enough to put together if it had been manufactured correctly but the one I received hadn't been. The long tubes that once joined together, have an internal thread at each end but half of them, the thread hadn't been tapped correctly. The correct engineering term for them, is they were 'filthy' and damaged making it impossible to insert the bolt into them without adding further damage to the bolts themselves. Strangely enough though, the other half were as clean as a whistle. I'm guessing that these are being imported into this country from China as 'seconds' with it being a matter of pot luck whether you receive a good one that can be put together or not.

Nice, neat & tidy. Lightweight but seems plenty sturdy for shoes and no problem lifting and moving it whilst fully loaded with shoes. Constructed with metal piping, no plastic. Comes with a pair of white gloves for assembly which only got a little bit of black on the finger tips but got caught on some of the rough metal around the screw holes etc so probably saved a few scratches. Had and issue with one pipe not fitting in the side and had to spray both with WD40 and hammer to get it to fit. Also one horizontal pipe in the middle the short screw on one end wouldn't take to the thread but eventually did with some muscle. Fits about a dozen pairs of shoes. Very happy with it.

It’s a good size and quality for the price. I’ll have to wait to see if it rusts outside, as being ‘rust free’ was the purpose for choosing it. Took quite a while to put together, so make sure you’re handy with an allen key and have a spare hour or so!
