Pretty much perfect for an EDC
So my review will be based off of using it as an every day carry so if that's what you're looking for, I hope this helps. I've been looking for a sling bag that wasn't the size of a fanny pack and not quite the size of a backpack. (Very hard to find apparently). I'll update this review after about a week of use but I want to note it as I go along. First impressions: Very good quality nylon. Seems just about if not more well built than my Osprey backpack. There is a good amount of space to start off with and there's always the MOLLE system if you need a bit more. For an EDC I think there's plenty of space and the pockets/organization seems to line up with my needs pretty well, but there's always something that ends up in the main compartment (which is perfectly fine. IMO that's what a bag is for...when you need help carrying something. Which is why a fanny pack size bag doesn't work for me) I'll add pictures after I get a feel for the bag in a few days and get it set up the way I like. Update (1 week later) I really like this bag. Solid construction, versatile options and the ability to customize. The admin pockets offer a multitude of configurations for however you plan to use it. It has a decent mix of directional use for if you wear it lefty or right so it doesn't favor 1 side over the other...well thought out. The size is perfect, I wanted something that can carry my every day essentials but with space for of I grab something at the store....check. The MOLLE system is great. I quickly realized I needed an option to hold my phone and a decent size water bottle (hydration pouch doesn't work for my needs). I bought 2 attachments and it is now almost perfect for me. The down side: the sling. Probably the only thing I'm not a fan of on this bag. The comms pouch is basically that. It was designed for a radio mic and that's about it. With that, just like most officers wear them, the placement is on the upper shoulder. My thoughts are if the whole bag offers MOLLE and it's going to be marketed to civilians as well, it should be detachable. The only thing I could think to use it for was to hold my keys for easy grab. The other problem is the sling in general. It has A LOT of slack. This is good for guys my size but it has 1 holder for all the excess and it slides very easily. To that point, with the comms pouch being so high and the amount of slack, the pouch rests basically on my neck and pushing against my beard. I tried to adjust it but because it can be worn on either side I guess it has to favor the middle a bit more than others. Is it a deal breaker?... No. Not for all the other customizing and quality it offers. I promised pictures for a better idea of the bag but tbh, there are a few reviews on Amazon that really show it off well so I'll leave that to the professionals. I'll still rate it 5 stars because there's nothing close to this that I was able to find. Worth the purchase and to look at all of the MOLLE accessories.

Just buy it
Great bag, heavily built and solid, not a thing to complain about. I've had a bunch of bags/packs, the majority were no name off brand ones. Many were garbage that began to fall apart within weeks to months. The last one I had before this was similar to the Condor brand 2 strap type that is the same size as this bag, I don't remember who made it. It's held up for about 3 years but that's with medium to light use and it's showing it's age. I thought it was a great bag and it is a good one for the price, I think I gave about $30 for it at the time. This bag though is much better in all aspects but price, however quality costs money. The 10 just shows what a good bag really is and until you actually get a hold of one in person you have no idea. The material is thicker, stitching is better, buckles are better and the zippers are amazingly great. The inner pockets are as tough as the outside, most cheap bags have thin pockets and the divider between compartments is thin as well. The pockets and organization in this bag is just laid out perfectly, everything just has a place to go. Is there room for improvement, sure, as everybody carries different things but this is the first bag that kept me from immediately thinking I needed an external pouch for something. I'm 5'6" and 140lbs, the bag carries comfortably and isn't too small or large. I have loaded it up to a weight of 25lbs. to see where it becomes uncomfortable. I'd say 25 is doable on a short trip but for hiking or long walking travel I'd say 15 is about max. This is reasonable as generally you shouldn't expect a bag that's over 10%-15% your body weight to be comfortable for long time frames. This of course depends on you fitness level and such, some may be more and others less. This bag can easily be over packed due to it's size and being a single strap can make it more uncomfortable quicker. If you're the type of person who carries a lot and it's heavier stuff, get a 2 strap. If you just carry minimal or light things, this is perfect. I mainly carry a small 1st aid kit, a book, notepad, chromebook and a hand gun. I do also have a few 'survival supplies but they are small and light. The main weight I carry is my son's supplies, he's 10 and special needs. I carry some diapers, wipes, spare clothing, feeding bag, couple of boxes of Peptamin JR (his formula). I may on occasion carry more if it's a overnight hospital stay, mainly supplies for me. It holds all this plus has plenty of room for more and considering I'm not doing a lot of walking, I don't see the single strap as bad. I'm happy with my choice as a long trip or overnight bag. I will say for short trips and such, I'll still carry my Maxpedition Remora more often and that's due to size, it fits nicely on his wheel chair. Then again the 10 may become my me bag and the Remora more of his bag. In our situation one small and one medium bag is much easier to manage than one large bag, as they drag on the wheels of his chair. This is a great edc, camping and duty bag, It would also make a great diaper bag for those who want something a little different, especially since it holds a hydration bladder. It is high at $100 but honestly worth the price in my opinion just based on the quality of what you receive.

I have it loaded pretty good with various things and despite the weight
This is my EDC pack. I have it loaded pretty good with various things and despite the weight, the design of this bag makes it easy to throw over your shoulder and head out. In other words, I don't just leave it at home, or in my truck because it's cumbersome and inconvenient like I have with other packs. The sling style is awesome! I have an ESEE 6 strapped to one side using a MOLLE backing (w/pouch) , and a 32oz Kleen Kanteen hooked to the other using a Grimloc and a Tier System strap that comes with this bag. Plus I have a SOG Powerassist Multi-tool with a MOLLE on top. That's it for the outside of the bag. I tried attaching other MOLLE pouches but it just made it more bulky for EDC in my opinion. The bag itself is made exceptionally well! It will last for years even as an EDC pack. I have a black one, which will show dust build up eventually but it's wipes off easy enough. They suggest you don't wash it due to the water resistant coating. The main reason I bought this bag was for the Tier System feature. It can tier to the larger 5.11 bags like the Rush 72, which I also have. I wanted an EDC that included some basic survival gear and some daily use stuff but didn't want to have to transfer it all to a larger pack when I go camping (or bug out). So this was ideal for me. In my Rush 72 I have my sleeping bag & pad, tent, etc. Should I have to bug out, all I have to do is strap my Rush 10 to my 72 and... well bug out. The only down side I can see it that it sticks out quite a bit. It looks kind of silly actually. I haven't had the opportunity to hike with it all tiered together so I don't know how it will ride but the 72 is really comfortable so I think it will be okay. I may update this partial review later to let you know. Anyway, if you just want a EDC (man purse/tactical sack) that is well built, well designed, and super convenient.... it is totally worth the money!! You won't be disappointed!

top notch sling bag from 5.11!
i've used the moab 10 as my edc the last 4 months & i love it! i've always liked to be prepared for whatever & have been working out my edc for decades... i used to carry an old jansport backpack in college, then a succession of messenger type bags, then i more or less downgraded to a reusable shopping bag style bag that i could just toss a lot of loose stuff into, that thing wore out after 6 years, & so i resurrected one of my messenger bags, but it just wasn't big enough for all the old & new things i became interested in carrying again... after much research i decided on a tactical bag because of the add-on potential of the molle platform... enter the 5.11 moab 10! i looked at a lot of bags, but the moab 10 stood out for it's organizational & practical features... upon arrival i was very impressed with the sturdy construction & quality finish of the product, although i was a little concerned because the zippers were stiff & hard to operate at first, but after a couple weeks of regular use they became smooth & reliable... the pockets & compartments have filled up fast & i usually have just enough room left over for incidentals i pick up during the day or on the way home... as i said, i was interested in adding on, & so i did, the moab 10 is currently sporting a condor water bottle pouch on one side (which as it turns out is the perfect size for a basic mess/cook kit), a condor gadget pouch on the other side, & on the front there is a cheap knockoff of the maxpedition combat monkey admin pouch, along with a mini maglite aaa led full flap holster, & there is plenty of molle real estate to spare... with the exception of the water bottle pouch which itself is covered in molle webbing, the other add-on pouches serve to cover up the molle & dress down the tactical appearance of the bag... so i'm very fond of pouches & the molle options of the moab 10! i also love the clamshell opening when i need full access to the main compartment & assorted pockets, makes it a breeze to pack or unpack... the front admin compartment has a great variety of small & large pockets for most all the essentials you need to get to quick... i don't use hydration bladder systems so the back hydration compartment, which is actually quite large when expanded, holds a change of clothes & would alternately fit my macbook if necessary, this makes the moab 10, as well as the other rush bags, great for carrying a laptop since that area is padded, protected, & is separate from the main compartment with it's own zippers... while the ambidextrous sling strap is a nice option, as a righty i primarily carry this bag either casually hanging off my right shoulder or over my head onto the left shoulder, however the fact that the storage area for the strap buckles completely passes thru behind the padding it would be a great place for adding a waist strap to redistribute some of the load if carrying this bag for an extended period hiking or biking etc. with all my stuff, including a full 40oz. of water & 20oz. of coffee in a klean kanteen insulated thermos, the bag weighs in at approximately 20lb., pretty hefty for such a small bag, but it has always been comfortable carried around town or on short hikes, & i've never had any trouble with the stitching on the shoulder strap or carry handle giving way... i've become confident that the little moab 10 can handle any load i can fit in there! i've rarely felt a need to use the compression straps, but it's reassuring to know they are there if i need them, & even though they only come installed on the top, the included set of straps for the 5.11 rush tier system will double as makeshift compression straps for the lower portion of the bag to snug it up & keep it lean should the need arise... as other reviewers have lamented, i have also found the zippered sunglasses pocket on top, when in use, interferes with the hydration tube port, but since i don't use a hydration system & i do stuff the sunglasses pocket full it's not a big detractor... the comms pouch on the shoulder strap is a bit out of the way to store my iphone & since that is usually carried on my person anyway i have found this pocket a convenient place to store my earbuds & a couple other misc. items... finally, while i don't carry a firearm, the quick access weapon compartment is a super stealthy addition & functions as advertised, however when i have my bag loaded up, especially with the admin compartment full, the quick access compartment isn't that easy to get anything into or out of, just a consideration for those interested in this bag for concealed carry... i'd say my new edc project is about 75% complete & the moab 10 has inspired me to new levels of preparedness... i can wholeheartedly recommend this high quality sling bag to anyone thinking it might suit their needs as well!

Great EDC bag
I purchased this bag as an EDC bag with the ability to conceal carry a weapon. Overall I am greatly pleased with the bag. The concealed area easily holds a 2" revolver it also does well with my 3" XD40 and even though it's a tight fit it will hold a 4" Commander size 1911. At this point I don't really see the need for a holster for the weapon as it's a snug fit and the weapon pretty my stays put on it's own. There are a couple of downsides to this product. I carry a full size tablet with me every day for work and have to access it many times during my shift. If I carry it in the admin compartment I have to removed the cover for my tablet to get it to fit into the pouch that just perfect size for it. If I carry it this way getting to a firearm in the hidden compartment is very difficult. So I carry my tablet in the main compartment in pouch area. When I do this then the pocket for the water bladder becomes useless as it then becomes difficult to get the tablet in and out without some difficulty. One other area that takes some getting used to is the large portion of the strap up on your shoulder. I find it a little uncomfortable and awkward but this is more a product of me than the bag, this is my first sling type bag. I am used to carrying a backpack over my shoulder by one strap so this type of bag takes a little getting used to. Other than that it's a great bag for the money and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an EDC bag or off the person carry bag. Well I have had this bag a number of months now and I still love it. I typically carry my tablet and some med supplies and other essential stuff for me. The one complaint I have is that if you are going to carry a pistol in this bag then you don't want to overstuff the main compartment because it will make it hard to get at your weapon. Other than that it's a great bag and because it is a sling bag does take a little getting used to. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone as an EDC bag. If you typically carry lots of "heavy" stuff then you might want to consider a bag with 2 straps vice one. In the next few days I will be adding a Condor EMT pouch to the front to move my first aid supplies to a more ready access position. Well here we are after owning this bag for 6 years now, I still use it everyday as my EDC bag. I've used it for off body CCW a few times. I take this bag with me everywhere. It's the perfect travel bag. I still highly recommend this bag for off body CCW and as a general all around sling bag. Having said that I just purchased the RUSH24 because I'm looking for something a little bigger. My MOAB 10 now will be packed with some clothes and other EDC items and kept in my truck. Being that both the MOAB10 and RUSH 24 support Tier I can attach them together and make 1 great pack if need be.

Excellent product. This is a high quality
Excellent product. This is a high quality, well designed tactical bag. I use this for general purpose to carry my laptop for business and as a way to store my essentials such as wallet, keys, sunglasses for day to day on the go and for travel. This bag is the perfect size and fit with lots of pockets and straps for storage. Even has a strap below for a water bottle or maybe a rolled jacket, blanket, travel pillow, etc. and is also equipped for a water bladder in a special pouch. When I was looking for a sling style bag I did lots of research because my personal preference was to have a bag that I could quickly carry over my right shoulder or throw over my head and carry across my chest and access from my right side because for whatever reason, that is more comfortable to me. I was finding that most sling style bags are designed to hang from the left side orientation which felt very cumbersome to me. The great thing with this bag is that there are straps built into the bag so that you can change the sling orientation to accommodate right OR left side. The bag is also VERY comfortable and stays in place without flopping around when you are on the move. Another thing I found with other sling style bags is that they were either way too large or way too small. I wanted something that wasn't too bulky for travelling on planes, public transportation and such, and I wanted something that would fit a large tablet or mid to small size laptop and this bag has all of the accommodations. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this bag and would recommend this to anyone.

GREAT bag, longs of pockets, but a little heavy.
I bought this to use as an EDC office bag for work and a manpurse when I'm with my family. I carry a MS Surface Pro4 and a handful of documents and gadgets. The Surface fits snugly in the compartment right against my back. I pulled out the hard plastic support piece, because I didnt need it. I had to practically fold it in half, length-wise in order to pull it out of it's compartment. There are lots of pockets in the smaller compartment to organize things. pet peeve: the strap gets in the way of opening the back pocket where I keep my Surface and the dual zippers are a little weird. In the closed position, the zips are separated. to open the back pocket, the zips have to be "brought together". This is the opposite of how most dual zippers work. I've been thinking about changing the color of one of the paracord zipper pulls so that I can remember which zipper should be on the left/right. On the other hand, the back pouch is supposed to be for a hydration pack and I don't think most people access their hydration pack more than 1x per day. The bag is a little bit heavy, but that's probably a sign of quality. The sling strap is ambidextrous, which is great, because I'm left-handed. I usually only carry it for short periods: between home and car, then between car and the office. If I ever take it to the mall or walk around with it, it doesn't take long for the sling to start feeling heavy and get uncomfortable. The webbing on the slingstrap and the pouch on the strap seem to be unusable (at least for me). If I attach a molle pouch to the strap webbing, the pouch sits too high and either feels awkward or it isn't easily accessible while I'm wearing the bag. The bag sits nicely on my back, the strap is fairly comfortable across my chest (until it begins to feel heavy). The carry handle on top is great. When tucking in the unused sling buckle, make sure you tuck it in flat. The demo video on the 5.11 website shows the demonstrator rolling the buckle. Rolling it up and tucking it in is going to make a bulge in the back of the bag and will be uncomfortable to wear. I really like the concealed carry compartment. I use it to carry an "emergency wallet". It stays out of they way, but is still easily accessible.

Awesome! Buy several!
Saw it at a gun show, overpriced. Read as many reviews as I could and it checked out to be good quality. Ordered it through Amazon, after a delay in shipping (delivery range with no precise delivery date, no confirmation number), wrong carrier (it said Fedx but UPS delivered it the day after it was suppose to be here), and no response from anyone after I inquired on my package, and then the package finally got here, but after I had to drive to UPS to pick it up since I took the day off on the day it was suppose to be here. Now, after that little drama with no clue who to blame for all the mess, the 5.11 Rush 10 deserves an excellent rating. After all, it's not the Rush 10's fault that someone can't get my item delivered on time for a paying customer. When I first picked up the Rush 10 out of the box, I immediately noticed that it was durable, that this pack was NOT a wimpy bag, but an aggressive "do everything with" pack. The quality was just awesome. It has many useful pockets/compartments, the grab handle is great, the ambidextrous straps are perfect, and the concealed pocket for my gun is just awesome. This is just preference but I would like that this bag have another strap to keep the Rush 10 from flying over your head. I did notice that the area for the hydration bag is a tad difficult to use and when being used prevents the coms/gadget pocket from being utilized. But like I said, preference. I still say that this bag is a quality made, aggressive bag, that will not let you down. I should have bought two.. Wait, not after that delay or confusion with shipping. :) I will use this bag for everything I can. But one or two but make sure you don't wait for something cheaper or better because the Rush 10 is worth every penny.
