My hair in a nutshell is baby fine, thin, stick straight and won't hold a curl for anything. It tends to get oily and fall flat very quickly. If I didn't use my favorite hair product (It's a 10 Miracle Leave In Spray) I would have static non-stop. I have to wash and dry my hair every day, and I blow dry it upside down to get the most volume possible, but I just hate how limp and lifeless it is even right after a vigorous blow dry! I have often worn extensions only for body (both woven in and clip in), but they're a pain and sometimes show which can be embarrassing. Enter this beauty. I bought this on an absolute whim. I saw it and thought; "If anyone would benefit from that product it would be me" so I went for it. I was super skeptical though. I was also really scared by the pictures on the box and the website. Some of those ladies on the box look like my 85lb labradoodle with WAY over poofed hair. I had no intention of looking like a labradoodle, so I started small. I only set the temp to 300 (my hair being so fine is prone to damage) and did 4 chunks of hair total with 2-3 crimps on each chunk starting at the base of my hair and working down. I only clamped for 1 second max each time. THIS IS THE RESULT! It's SO much better and it lasts all day long!!!! Best of all no one can tell! I can run my fingers through my hair, pull it up into a ponytail, walk in wind (all things that are a nightmare with extensions) and it stays looking naturally fuller for hours and hours. This is completely unheard of for me and I am officially in love with this thing. I know I already said 'best of all', but ALSO best of all is how fast, easy and idiot proof this thing is to use!! It heats up instantly and truly it's nearly impossible to screw up if you read the directions. Basically you part your hair as you normally would, then I use my rat tail comb to pull up the top layer of my hair and clip it over to the other side (the way I would if I were going to put in clip in extensions). Then you separate out a chunk of hair, clamp, clamp, clamp, then pull it over and clip it down to do the next section. As I mentioned I only did this in two sections and only on the sides of my head. It took all of 1 minute, and I have all day body that I've never had in my life, with no additional hair spray, mouse or product!! Truly, if you have hair like mine do yourself a favor and buy this thing. It even lasted over night and my hair looked better than it ever has in the morning! Two thumbs way up from this girl! And yes I paid FULL PRICE for this gadget!

I cannot say enough good things about this air tool. It. Is. AMAZING. This is the first review I have ever written for anything I have ever purchased because this does exactly what it says it does and then some!! I came across the ad for the Voloom on my Facebook news feed… I thought the same thing I do about every other product I see that promises results.. most of the time I end up disappointed. I have had extremely fine and lifeless hair my entire life. It only has body when I literally put a ton of product in it, curl it, tease it, etc. My hair has been getting longer and I was to the point where I didn’t even want to wear it down and straight anymore because it was so stringy and flat. I thought what the heck when I saw this. I spent the money. And let me tell you… it is worth it!! I got the Rootie and do from the roots halfway down my hair on the under layers (I clip the top layers out of the way to lay over the voloomed hair). It takes a little practice. I used it for the second time this morning and I have already had a few people compliment my hair and tell me how whatever I did has changed my whole look! My hair looks healthier. It feels healthier. It’s amazing! It has a TON of body! I have messed around with it a bit (it takes a little practice) and the more you use it the more volume it adds, and it lasts for days. I wash my hair once every 3 days and a quick touch up with this tool every day and my hair doesn’t even look or feel greasy by the end of day 3. It literally lifts the hair away from the scalp. It is life-changing for me! Really amazing. To think of the time and money I have dumped into hair products and serums and thickening tonics and the whole time all I needed was this. I will save so much money. All I need now is a spray or two of dry shampoo in between washing and that’s it! Of course I use a heat protectant before blow-drying because I color my hair. But that’s it!! This does not cause heat damage, and that was one thing I was worried about. It really does make my hair look and feel healthier! One thing with it is that it literally “crimps” the hair, so playing around with it is a must. Just my second time using it and I have already gotten really good with it. Using it on the under layers is what provides the body and texture, and make sure to leave the top layers as is to lay over the voloomed hair. Brush when done using the tool, and.. VOLOOM! My hair looks awesome today! I brush it less, too. It does not get stringy like it would normally after a half hour. This will change my life. It will make my life easier! Less messing with my hair and the confidence it has given me is unbelievable. For any women who suffer with thinning and fine hair, I highly recommend this. I have always hated when people would touch my hair and say, “Wow, your hair is so thin and fine..” =| I have always had a complex about it. My hair would get greasy the more I touched it and messed with it. That is all out the window now. My boyfriend was running his fingers through my “thick” hair and saying how soft it was. And I loved every second of it when normally I would hate it! Ladies, give this a try! You will not be disappointed. I am a product junkie and out of ANYTHING I have EVER tried, this is freaking awesome! My sister also has flat and thin hair. I have sent her the link and I am encouraging her to try it as well. Truly life-changing 

A must have tool for every type of hair! I bought this back in 2018 and it’s literally one of the best hair tools I’ve ever purchased even if you don’t have fine or thin hair this thing is still vital because it prevents you from having to spray toxic hair products on your scalp for volume. Don’t be fooled by the crimping design, the crimping relaxes a bit shortly after using it so it doesn’t look obvious, just effortless volume! I used to be afraid that my hair would look crimped so I would only do the back half of my hair, but it would look weird like I was from the 1960s or something. Now I just do it everywhere because I’ve learned that the crimping part relaxes and it just turns into perfect volume. What’s even cooler is it literally last for days! I have fine silky hair, curls don’t really stay put in my hair for very long, but the crimping effect from this tool does! So even if I don’t choose to redo my hair on day two I still have lots of natural volume! Seriously every girl needs this

I actually bought this after seeing all the ads on FB and was intrigued by all the high reviews. I decided to purchase knowing that there was a chance I'd be sending it back being the skeptic that I am. However, this product actually works! I have fine hair but my stylist says I have a lot of it so my hair doesn't look SUPER thin, but it is. It goes flat easily. I also tend to have oily hair and can only get away with one day of not washing. People claim you can go longer without washing. For me this isn't the case. I still wash every other day but it does help with the volume at the root. I no longer use root pump because it adds to product buildup and gets greasy over time so this volume iron takes the place of root pump products and back combing which I'm not too great at and don't like the Elvira look it creates. Sometimes when it's windy or I pull your hair up, my kinky roots will show. It's not a real big deal, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone would be bothered by this. I also think using this product could make you look at little like Elvira at first but once you get used to the iron you can find what look suits you such as how far down you kink or how many layers and where. In all, I think this product it worth it. One star off for claims of not having to wash your hair as often (which may be true for some) and also it adds a step to my routine which is SORTA a pain, but in the end this product is a fantastic find. Volume promised and volume delivered. I'm glad I bought it.

I was very skeptical about this product, but boy was I wrong!! I have very fine, very thinning hair, and I have even tried scalp extensions but they always still expose my scalp . But the rootie, give my hair so much volume and life and I only use it in a few different areas. I pickup sections of hair that are underneath the top section of my hair, and I only hold it on for maybe 3 seconds and the waffle teeth pattern gives my hair volume at the root and then I just let the top section sit on top so that no one can see the crimped waffle pattern underneath. I normally can’t wear my hair I. A pony tail but this tool give me so much volume, I am abl to pull it without the elastic just sliding right out of my hair. Hands don the best volume product that I have ever purchased.

This works so well on my fine hair. It gives nice volume and gets rid of the dreaded back part that sometimes comes with s second day hair. Worth the investment

I am not leaving a review with "before" and "after" shots as those have been well covered and mine looked like everyone elses...I really appreciate it when people leave pics. That is really helpful. Here is what I think about this "volumizing" iron... my opinion may differ from yours, but that is ok! 1. It takes a few tries to get the best effective technique down (making sure to get just the under layers and leave enough top layer to cover the crimping), but it is fairly easy eventually - it comes with the really nice, strong clips and a rat tail type brush that helps you separate your layers. My hair is medium thickness in my opinion and the clips held large volumes of my hair to the side as I worked with the under layer. The iron has a power on/off button and a "+" and "-" to raise and lower the temperature. They give you an idea on what temp to use by what your natural hair thickness is. It does NOT have an "auto power off" feature, so do remember to turn it off. It did take quite a long time to cool off too. So I wouldn't leave it near anything delicate while it cools. 2. It is basically a crimper.... a waffle style crimper. The waffle crimps are what gives you that "volume" or body. The "waffle" crimp pattern spreads the hair out below the crimp - and adds some, but less volume where the waffle crimp actually is. You definitely want to avoid the front 1" to 1 1/2" around your face to avoid the crimp showing, as they recommend. It also comes with a very helpful instruction/FAQ booklet to help you get started. In addition, it comes with a very handy heat resistant travel pouch. All nice additions. But at this price, believe me you paid for every single item included at SUPER high prices! 3. While it did provide some body without backcombing/ratting... it is kinda of labor intensive I think. I went back several times to re-crimp areas to build up the desired body. I am just not sure it's something I would do every day. But that is just me. I am at a point in my life where I want to simplify my life and my routines... But I might do it for a special occasion. Side note: It didn't last more than one day in my hair. I would need to redo the crimping everyday. Mostly I just used at my crown area... I like just a little volume there and a "little" volume is basically all you can do in the crown area because the only "volume" you can get is the waffle pattern. 4. Also, it seems to really dry my hair out - maybe that's part of the "volume" ability? But those with more oily hair may find that appealing (?) Others had said that it also worked as a "straightener".... Hmmm... It just really frizzed/fuzzed out my ends and it wasn't really smooth either... I think it works best as a waffle crimper. I would NOT agree that it doubles as a straightener or flatner. 5. The price is really ridiculous. (one star off for that) - Their marketing works... I mean, I bought it... along with hundreds of others... but let's face it.. it's worth about $50 tops even with the clips, the brush and travel case! They ARE making bank and good for them. All in all, I am keeping it. I will use it for those special occasions that I feel I need a "lift." It arrived in perfect condition, unopened and quickly (I have prime). At this price point I can't really recommend it because it is seriously overpriced. It's just too expensive for what it does in my opinion. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new information seem useful!

Easy to use! By strategically using it you add volume to your hair styles. I think hair crimper may be the best term. By crimping just underneath my top layer of hair around my face or underneath the sides or back, it’s gives me some volume. It’s like a waffle pattern which adds fluff. A little goes a long way. Especially nice when you need to spruce up flat hat hair or add life to hair that’s been slept on.
