Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd Gen) USB Audio Interface

Awesome product... liked the quality, scarlett is always the best when it comes to audio interface

Very clear sound and up to to mark expected

No issues with tracking guitars with VSTs at low latency provided you have a capable system with a good USB controller and proper power management tweaks (like limiting deep C-states and disabling USB selective suspend). The output section (DAC + pre-amp) offers good volume control. However, it produces a noticeably coloured sound lacking in clarity in the treble bands. The presence band especially sounds smeared. The microphone input works very well and so does Air mode. No issues with 48V phantom power either. A passive DI box worked quite well with it. The instrument input works fine with electric guitars except for those with high output passive pickups. For some of the Seymour Duncans bridge pickups (TB-6 Distortion, Black Winter, Nazgul), the sweet spot could only be found upon tweaking both the input gain as well as the volume control for the pickups. There is very little headroom and even small adjustments make a huge impact. Just a little less input gain and you loose sustain. A little more and the instrument becomes too sensitive and noisy. Another trick is to control the input volume in the DAW or VST. Build quality is very good. Zero complaints there. Included USB cable gets the job done.

If you have used an audio interface before, You might not find a very drastic difference between the qualities of the former and this one but the one thing which is amazing about the scarlett solo is the low static noise 2. There is also an option called "air" which can be used to record somewhat better vocals. The difference is little but still noticeable. 3. The interface uses Type-C cable so you can easily use any phone charger cable in case your original cable is lost. 4. When you use it the first time, It might take some time for the initial setup. The setting up process is somewhat manual and could be improved. For new users, Please refer to tutorials to set this up. 5. Overall, the interface is very compact, Lovely designed and built. The led lights look awesome and are even customisable with the focusrite app on your pc. Finally, This interface just does the work for you. It has that value for the price it brings!
