Dissecting Marilyn Manson Review: Amazing book - Start to finish couldn’t put this book down sad to say I learned a lot from this book about another world didn’t know existed, crazy how miuch I lean from Brian Warner the man is extremely bright, don’t agree with some of his views but the man is extremely talented, I bought this book because I read long road out of hell years back and couldn’t believe the stories it’s like Brian Warner says when reading about death/crazyniess/stuff beyond the normal gives u an escape into a different world way to different fir me. but it’s a interesting/abnormal world Brian lives in like watching a horror movie/somewhat reality show he’s world differently one of a kind Brian Warner will always stand out like Alice Cooper, kiss, and marilyn Manson he made hes mark. Review: Good stuff. - My husband bought this book for a paper he was writing in college. It was pretty well-written. While it wasn't as humorous as Manson's autobiography, my husband and I both enjoyed reading it. If you are a Manson fan, you should probably pick up a copy of this.

A must for understanding Manson.
This book reads like a "works cited" page for Marilyn Manson's life. It's basically a list of all the influences on his music, fashion, philosophy, religious views, and general tastes in things like movies and books. It also gives an explanation for why all of these are relative to Manson, although I'm sure this is in the author's perception and not his own. This book is a must for those that want to understand why Marilyn Manson is the way he is. It does a much better job than his own autobiography, which I consider to be more entertainment than knowledge. I highly recommend reading both books, they serve as excellent companions to one another since neither give the complete story.

While I found the book to be entertaining on many different subjects which contributed to the life and times of one of my favorite artists, I have to take offense with the author Gavin Baddeley. He is allegedly an expert on the occult...so why does he refer to Aleister Crowley's religion as "Crowleyanity" and his followers as "Crowleyites"??? Anyone who has read Aleister Crowley would know the his religion was called Thelema and his followers called Thelemites! At one point in the book he also claims that Manson became so atheist as to become a "Satanist"! "Satanism" is just a different belief system, i.e.m Christianity, Judaism, Islam, you get the picture...if you are atheistic you believe in nothing! I do not wish to ramble, but just wanted to point out some glaringly bad misinformation. the book is somewhat entertaining, and I dove the pictures of course, but I think I would rather rent if from a library for free rather than spend money on this one! (sorry Marilyn)...not recommending!

Ignorant author
Ignorant author! Marilyn Manson is truly brilliant. High I.Q. level. Extremely artistic and deep and composes himself so well even when people accuse and assume things about him. This author says his fans are mostly teenager. What a joke and very offensive, such a untrue statement. And this author has no clue what he is talking about as far as satanism goes. Please educate yourself before you write a book. Guys, please dont even support this author.

This book definitely is one of the best books I've read in the last years. It's more exciting than some Thriller, you simply can't stop reading. It's not only interesting for fans of Marilyn Manson and his music - as it goes much deeper into MM's period of time. Gavin Baddeley dissects anything around Marilyn Manson: culture, politics, art, philosophy, literature, psychology, sexuality - nothing is left out. Even if you've read Manson's own biography "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell", this book is a must have. I was completely flabbergasted. Of course I was aware how exceptionally smart Marilyn Manson is and that there's a hell a lot behind his music and his appearance - but Gavin Baddeley created a book that gives such an intimate insight into Marilyn Manson's art that I almost felt ashamed I didn't get all these influences and deeper meanings before. Hail to this great author!
