Incredibly flavorful and moist. Best gluten free cake mix (or any cake mix) I've ever had
After a diagnosis of hashimotos (a thyroid disease) I started on a gluten/ dairy free diet. Changing out flour and butter in baked products can be challenging with mixed results. We normally like to bake from scratch and are experimenting with what works but in the meantime I really wanted some good cake. The cake mix itself is gluten free and we added almond milk and earth balance dairy free butter to it. This cake was amazing and better than the normal chocolate cakes I've had! It was so full of flavor and moist and delicious! We topped it off with dairy free homemade peanut butter buttercream and I don't care if I ever manage to make another cake from scratch again. Hands down the best cake I've ever had.

The best.
I use this cake mix to create many recipes when I do not feel like making a cake completely from scratch. I use Bob's Red MIll because of its gluten-free options for my daughter who has Celiacs Disease. This holiday, I used it to make an Upside-down Pineapple cake that was extremely delicious. No one would have ever known that it was gluten free had I not told them. The texture is just like regular cakes made with flour, and it holds up pretty well for a couple of days in the fridge. Consumers reading this review should know that I do make cakes from scratch and that I have tried many brands of gluten-free flour and cake mixes--this is the best in terms of aroma, texture, and taste. I have also used it to make a strawberry cake with fresh strawberry filling. It also works nicely as cup-cakes. My one suggestion for the baker is that you do not over bake this mix. Cook it about 10 degrees lower than the instructions say, and leave it a bit longer in as well. Add an extra egg yolk for moisture or a tablespoon of milk. Lastly, the cake is done when you can touch the top and feel a firmness below that does not leave an imprint. Good luck bakers!

Great Cake
A cost-effective way to get your chocolate cake fix. Some might taste a hint of bean in this when it has been baked (DO NOT LICK THE BEATERS! JUST DON"T!) but there is so much lovely dark chocolate in this, you won't mind so much. I'd advise to use at least 2 tsps. of vanilla, up to a tablespoon if you're not loving the hint of bean. I've had trouble with this not rising properly. I find it really does need real eggs and cow's milk (otherwise I use coconut milk) and careful mixing with room-temperature ingredients. If it "falls", you'll just have a denser cake. Still tastes good, for my money, but maybe not for showing off to guests. Recipe book "Babycakes" has superb muffin/cupcake recipes using Bob's Red Mill All Purpose Flour, which is pretty beany, and all the recipes call for a tablespoon of vanilla. Update 2012: I've found that two things help with the rising of this cake. First, not skimping with the liquids. The batter should be like a slightly thicker cake batter, but not much. Second, I add an extra minute of beating on the first round, and make sure I do the entire minute on the second. When I asked Bob's why my cakes were falling, they said it must be my oven temperature; but I have an infrared thermometer, and it says my oven is right on.

So wonderful!
Having become gluten intolerant, I thought I’d never find a chocolate cake I liked again. WRONG1! This is excellent quality cake. It mixes easily, cooks exactly as it should, but most of all tastes wonderful! Heck, I’d recommend this, even if I wasn’t gluten intolerant.

Gluten free cake mix
I like this cake mix. It is good and very easy to make. It has a good flavor, although it is a little dry for a yellow cake. Still, it's the best gluten-free yellow cake I have found. It is also free of rice flour, to which I am also allergic. One issue is that one of the cake mixes wasn't sealed in the back and I'm afraid to use it. I have never had that happen before,. With this pandemic, I had already destroyed the box so I couldn't exchange it. That was annoying. Just check to make sure all of the mixes are sealed correctly before you destroy the shipping box. This is much too expensive for one of the bags not to be completely sealed.

Best mix
I recently had to stop eating gluten and love cake. I trust Bob's and wanted to see what this would taste like before making my own from scratch. This cake mix tastes just like my own scratch made regular chocolate cake! It's moist, has great texture, just think of the best cake you've ever had, this mix is it! I don't have to give up great cake!!! This is my second bag and I'll be ordering more. I can't get this in my local places. I only make from scratch but this is just too perfect. It'll be my little secret lol. Nobody will EVER know it's gluten-free! I've fooled everyone! I'm hooked! And I'm not a bot, I promise!

Probably my favourite GF cake mix! My partner is celiac so I have had to transition to GF stuff so it is safe for him. This tastes great and isn't super dry! Definitely going to buy again as was really impressed!
