Lovable flash
I love this flash - so compact and doubles as a battery charger. No TTL, but that really doesn't matter for me and I use it with different camera systems anyway.

Pity
I got the Q20 II a couple of days ago. First impressions were fine, it was nicely packaged and looked and felt good. I put in some new rechargeable batteries and I charged the flash and transmitter to green lights. I also paired the flash and transmitter. On camera (Leica q2) it worked fine. It recharged quickly and I think it fired every time. However I had bought this little piece of kit for its off camera abilities and this is where things went wrong. If I was lucky it would fire three times in every ten attempts. There was obviously some communication issue between the transmitter and the flash despite them never being more than a couple of feet apart. Pointing the flash downwards it would work and then wouldn't, pointing the flash sideways it wouldn't work (except for once). Having given the flash plenty of time to recharge I am not sure what the problem was, whether it was a quality control issue or just a problem with this unit. Either way it makes what I thought was a brilliant little flash unusable for me, my one requirement being that the flash fires when I press the shutter button, whether off camera or on. The flash has been returned and it gets one star in each category because this one does not work as it is meant to. As an aside it was interesting to see how the price has changed in just a few days, what I paid £92 for on Monday is now, on Friday, £111.

FlashQ Q20ii. Easy to use manual flash
Small and compact, very easy to use for on-camera flash. Really good for off-camera flash too. Easy connection, flash and modelling lights can be adjusted from the on camera trigger unit. Head can be angled for bounce flash and when the flash head is detached from the trigger unit it can be placed on any flat surface. There is also a female thread housing to attach the flash to a stand or monopod. Guide number of 20. Something to bear in mind is that the control buttons on the trigger unit are very small, but the unit is so small that is inevitable.

Stopped working
I purchased this flash to use on my Leica Q2 for some candid event photography. Out the box, the flash seemed a bit clunky but worked fine. After owning the flash for around 5 months now I've used it a handful of times as it wasnt firing with the shutter after waiting for the refresh. Tried new batteries and still nothing. Video light works to some degree but purchased for the stills flash and its just not reliable enough to use unfortunately.

The hype is well founded
I took a chance on this having not actually seen it and wondered if the enthusiasm (hype) for it on YouTube and various on-line reviews was true. I am pleased to say it is, it's a great flashgun and I don't have anything negative to say about it. Of course this is a manual flashgun so it wont suit everyone but the features, extras and usability is superb. Great design, well executed an easy 5 stars.

Flexible and straightforward pocket flash
I bought this as a pocket size flash for a GRiii and it is perfect for the job. Really flexible - use on or off camera, simple to set up.

I purchased this flash head to experiment with a different approach for macro-photography. Indeed, I use a big, "normal" flash head, very powerful and suitable for 1:1 macro. But the huge reflector and the bulkiness and weight of the whole setting is not adapted for my other macro lens able of 2:1 magnification. This small, compact flash answers a lot of the constrains I was looking to solve, especially the detachable head, which can now be located wherever I wish (with a flexible support, for example), and specifically just above the lens to light the subject from a very short distance. Still experimenting on how to "soften" the light coming from the flash head so close, but at this magnification ratio, the small emitting surface is already big enough for the subject to avoid too much of a "hot spot" on it ... This flash is not the most powerful on the market, far from it, but for this specific use, I have to use the minimum power output, 1/64 power output which can be set right from 2 small buttons on the transmitter ! At that power output, the recycle time is around 1/2 to 1 second, depending on the freshness of the batteries, 2 AA only. I can do with it, but this might be a no-go for macro shooters doing stack-up. No TTL, output setting have to be set by yourself, which is ok in my case, as I do not want to rely on the camera to set the exposure (too much variation of subject and background in macro photography) and as this prevents the "pre-flash" used for TTL. This being said, this little flash is quite a favourite for street photographers, allowing flash fill-in, but again, do not hope to light a whole room with it, even if the reflector can be tilted "up" to 90° on the ceiling ... Nevertheless, the possibility to detach the "head" from the "emitter" which stays on the camera, is a real bonus, one could hold it by hand or locate it at any place for creative flash effect (back-light, for example), at a fraction of the cost of a full-sized flash head and additional transmitter. Product delivered with a set of gels of different colours, adding to the creativity range. Then, the integrated variable LED is able to give some additional light for video shooting, but again, limited output, comparable to these small "light cubes" for video shooting, so no more than close range subject. With rechargeable batteries in it, the flash (2 AA) and emitter (integrated battery) can be reloaded with a double-USB C cable provided. Quite convenient. But note that the flash is off when charging ... could be an useful implementation for the next version to be able to "charge and shoot" ! Very satisfied with this flash, once the limited power output from the flash head and LED is acknowledged. The detachable head from the transmitter, and the integrated LED are a real bonus and allow for a wide range of creative images ... if the subject is not too far away. I recommande it for a start in flash photography and/or video, or as a small, portable, capable flash complement for specific use, at a very affordable and justified cost.
