K001 Torx Plus 5-Point Tamper-Proof Security Bit Set, 7-Piece

Had to order this for my 2002 Honda crv Idle control valve screws, no other store but Amazon has these for me. Cleaned my idle control valve and I’m back on the road all thanks to these bad boys . Worth the price and 1 day shipping , what else can you ask for .

I so like that, with the largest phillips bit, I could use a ratchet wrench to remove screws, rather than a screwdriver.A neighbor discarded what you see in the picture, and I thought I could dissasemble it and use the wooden pieces elsewhere. Yet, to use a screwdriver would be too hard on my sometimes arthritic hand. So I bought this and easily removed the screws with a ratchet wrench. Being given two of the size I needed was helpful. Thank you. It is a well thought out set of bits. Good quality too. I did have some sockets, from the same manufacturer, to hold the bit. And then the socket I put on my ratchet wrench. There is a piece in this kit I haven't explored. It might have the same purpose as the sockets I made use of today. I just don't know. Well worth the money.

Most people don't realize about these special safety bits. They look like torx bits with hole in the middle. Called tamper proof bits. Actually called torx plus / pantelobe 5 point bits . Torx has 6 points . Every diy or mechanic should have these in tool box for special tamper proof screws and most maf sensor replacement require this bit or most modern cars have these to prevent home mechanics from changing things . For under $10. These will work on many parts and cars and save you hundreds of dollars . Maf sensor alone is $200 part. With these you can remove it from the housing ( Bosch) mostly and clean MAF or map sensor for under $10 vs paying mechanic hundreds to replace or clean . Just follow instructions on crc MAF sensor cleaner spray can . $9 .. + these bits . 👍👍

Works for 2005 Boxster MAF sensor screws.

Seems like an OK set for the price but the bit size is not labelled anywhere....not on the holder....not even on the bits themselves. Not too big of a deal if you don't know what size your bolt/screw is because you're generally trial fitting until you find the right size anyway.....but if you know what size you need you can't just grab that size and go....unless you use them so much that you just know which size is which or you take the whole set with you. A minor annoyance but worth pointing out.

Used this to remove two screws from the back of my Dell Inspiron laptop. The shallow screws were secured with Loctite (or similar thread adhesive). Failed unscrewing attempts resulted in damaged/stripped heads. The after some careful work, the reverse drill bit unscrewed both screws without the need for the additional bit. The tool was perfect for my application.
