No Rodent Problems Since Installed!
The Loraffe Underhood Repeller was easy to install and I have had no critter problems on my vehicles since installation--which is more than I can say before I tried this solution to keep mice and chipmunks at bay! While there is not a way for me to prove the Loraffe units are the reason for no critters gnawing on my vehicles, I can tell you that I have seen mice at a gas station trash can scatter like they were on a sinking ship shortly after shutting my car off to fuel up one night as the Loraffe unit automatically turned on after car motion stopped. It was not only comical, but indicated to me the Loraffe Repeller does indeed repel!

It does work.
It kept mice away for over a year up until this last cold spell, which we got a mouse in the truck that chewed on the wires. So it did what it said for at least a year+.

I'm at war!
After about $1,000 in car damage among two vehicles that happened overnight, I'm at war. Upon recommendation of the mechanic, I started with predator urine, spreading red fox urine everywhere along the perimeter of the house. Did not work. Clearcutting to make way for a new development down the road appears to have unleashed rodents with no fear into the local environment. After so more research, I added peppermint oil under the hood to the mix. Did not work. Apparently, I'm dealing with the spawn of Satan. So, on top of those two, I added the layers of this device and Rat X. I really do not want to resort to rattus novegicus-icide, but you gotta do what you gotta do. There had been an armistice. The Rat X disappeared overnight, and I noticed that activity around the burrows died down. Until this morning. I assumed, the combo of urine, mint, strobe, and desiccant had worked. Then on my way to run errands, I noticed that every warning light possible was going off. I looked under the hood and noticed that there was a ton of nesting materials that had appeared overnight. I had left the hood down overnight because it was raining. I was mad. I assumed this device did not provide the deterrent it promised. As I cleared out the holly bush, I noticed the device wasn't working. Upon closer inspection, the little buggers had chewed through the wire to the negative battery post AND chewed through the plastic post I used to position the device. Apparently, they really don't like this thing! Would recommend. I suspect it's actually the strobe that the rodents don't like, but I'm not an expert. Just a man who is very tired after a long, cold war.

My car battery died. [EDIT] And then my brand new battery died in 17 days.
I had roadside assistance come out this morning because not only did my trunk stop opening a few days ago, but my car as of today wouldn't start. Considering my last two trips to the shop for expensive rodent repair before purchasing this device, I thought either 1) the shop must have not fixed all the wires and the frayed ones finally died or 2) the device wasn't doing its job and rats were still chewing through the wires. With a quick jump, the car immediately started right up. The tech said that the car (small crossover suv) takes 12V to start and it was at 11.2V. Meanwhile, the device was still flashing away under the hood. Without turning the car off, I went straight to the auto store down the road and installed a new battery. The car starts and the trunk opens. Do NOT trust this device to stop drawing charge from the poor battery prior to your car not starting. [EDIT] At the end of the original review, I had purchased a brand new DieHard Platinum battery. A week or two later, the same issues crept back in (car struggled to start, trunk wouldn't open, etc.). It took only 17 days for this device to kill a brand new battery. I just got it back from the dealer service center and they ran diagnostics and charged it up and said that the battery is not holding a charge and needs to be replaced. I'm back to the drawing board for the rats, but I do not recommend this device to anyone unless your goal is to kill a battery.

I have been using this product for over at least 4 years
I have been using one of these in another vehicle for at least over 4 years (not sure for how long). I just bought another one for a different vehicle. I did not have a rodent issue in my vehicles when I started using them. I park in front of my barn that has animals and feed in it and rodents do get in there sometimes. I have never had rodents in my vehicles so I have to presume this works. If nothing else it is cheap insurance.
