This flan mold is absolutely spectacular! It’s large, sturdy, and exactly what I needed to make big, beautiful flans for my family. The stainless steel is high quality and easy to clean. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves making flan or desserts that require a water bath.

Works perfectly. A double batch flan bakes to perfection in this flanera. It's food grade stainless (magnet tested), the laser etching is well done. I had a possible concern with the spot welds holding the clasps and lid handle on, they are very small- but so far, very sturdy as well.

I was afraid to use this flanera because I thought it was going to be difficult to clean. To my surprise was very easy! Taking the flan out the flanera was easy too! It fits perfectly my instant pot as well. It was worth to buy it. The only disadvantage is that I have left overs from the flan mix. But I don’t think a bigger flanera will be helpful because the capacity of my instant pot.

I adore this pan! I love egg custard so I knew I would like flan. I had it in multiple restaurants, and only one served what I felt was the true consistency and flavor of flan. I looked up recipes for flan and chose one that seemed like it would satisfy my taste buds. I needed a flanera, but all the ones I saw were the customary 7.5 inches in diameter. I live by myself and wanted to make a smaller flan. Then I found this one! It is only 6 " in diameter, but still 3" deep like the larger ones. Since my recipe was for the larger flanera, I calculated that I would need to convert the recipe to 60% of the ingredients. However, I wanted to first try to put a full recipe in this flanera to see what would happen. The results were a thicker, delicious, authentic -tasting flan, and the recipe was perfect! I did cut back on the amount of sugar for the caramel in this smaller flanera, but my next full-recipe flan (to take to my family) will have the full amount of sugar so the caramel is more plentiful. Then I will try my reduced amount recipe and see how that turns out with a thinner flan. It was truly rewarding to make a successful flan for the first time, and I look forward to making it again and again.

Pros: 1. The cover seals over the container, ensuring that no moisture gets into the pan and ruining whatever you are cooking. This is important if you want to get whatever you are cooking to come out right. 2. The handle is super helpful especially if you use it in a pressure cooker. 3. Superior craftsmanship. Solid build and polish. 4. Easy to clean. I used a scotch Brite sponge in taking the flan stuck on the sides and it looks good as new. 5. Did not warp when I melted sugar in it. Contained heat well and syrup came out perfect! 6. Perfect even as a lunch box. Cons: 1. I wish it was more affordable. 2. The latch and locks need a little getting used to in maneuvering to close or open it. It's not flimsy but the tension doesn't seem perfect when latching and locking. Absolutely great! I have been making Filipino flan for years in smaller oval aluminum molds that have started to break down. I decided to get this to make bigger ones and hoping for easy cleaning and better quality. Making the sugar syrup and melting it directly over the burner came out perfectly. I didn't burn the sugar. I cooked the flan using my ninja foodi pressure cooker for 16 minutes. I am so pleased with the outcome! The most perfect flan I have made and even the texture and taste is fantastic! I'll buy more.
