Panasonic Hair Trimmer gives the closest trim and will last for years
What I actually got was Panasonic ER430 Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer with Vacuum Cleaning System, Black, 180 Grams. It is an excellent trimmer. The best thing over the Panasonic ER430 Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer with Vacuum Cleaning System, Black, 180 Grams which I had previously was it lasted forever and gave a close trim. Every other one I tried would not get close enough, so I returned them. The Panasonic company is an excellent company. I have bought electronics from them since the 1970s. If you are going to get a nose trimmer I recommend either the ER430K or the ER430.

No One Like Nose Hair. This Helps.
People sometimes look at getting older in a completely negative light. I'm happy to say that there are many aspects of being in my mid-40s that are just fine. I am in great physical condition. I am old enough to say something in a meeting and have other people take me seriously, and yet young enough that the 20-somethings with whom I work can still consider me cool (or at least that's what I tell myself). But one thing they don't necessarily tell you about in the book of aging: hair tends to start sprouting from places you'd really never had to maintain in your younger years. Perhaps it is making up for the retreat from my skull. In any case, I never previously had a need for such a device as a nose hair trimmer. Well, that's not true; I've needed one for at least four years. But perhaps being in a state of denial, I never purchased a dedicated tool for said need. Instead, I grimaced at the hair that extended from my nostrils, and hacked away at them with a small pair of scissors. As I would attempt this, I would get a macabre daydream of slipping and falling, jamming said scissors into my brain, and dying in an ignobious manner. Plus, it never really worked very well... and was especially unnerving when I'd try the same thing with the hair that began emerging from my ears. Enter the Panasonic ER430K. Since this was my first purchase of a grooming device such as this, I looked at reviews and compared feature sets and all that stuff that a good consumer is supposed to do. What I found was that a) people liked the 430K and b) there wasn't that huge of a price difference between this top-of-the-line Panasonic model and their lesser offerings. Plus, I was already buying holiday gifts for other people at the time, so I might as well bite the bullet and get this device at a good price and with the free shipping that came along with my sizable Amazon order. It was about as simple as possible to set up. Unscrew the battery compartment, pop in a AA battery, and there you are. The next part -- using the device -- seemed self-explanatory. You turn on the switch, and stick it into your nose. Since it has a built-in vacuum, you aren't facing the somewhat disgusting task of cleaning your discarded nose hair clippings from your nose and the front of your shirt after using it. I will say, for those of you with little experience in these matters: shoving a buzzing razor into your nose is an odd experience at best, and you should be prepared for it to tickle in a way that you probably haven't felt before. The same goes for the first time you use it in your ears. That having been said, it seems to be tremendously effective. I am happy to say that in looking in the mirror after my first use, both my nose and ears were quickly devoid of unwanted hair. And that's why we get devices like this one, isn't it? Look, I'm fine being in my mid-40s. I'm fine with my greying beard, and the bit of wobble around my waistline. But the nose and ear hair had to go. The Panasonic ER430K did everything I wanted it to, was easy to use, and didn't cost a lot. What more can I ask for?

Good Economical Trimmer - Does Thorough Job - Does exhibit some Vibration - May Cause Minor Nicks
As you get older, you wind up with hair in places you really don't want it. I have tried other trimmers and found them to be very poor at trimming coarse hair. I wanted to be positive that i could get all the hair and without very sharp eye sight, this can be hard. I chose this as it was highly rated by Popular Mechanics Magazine, and had good reviews. It is also pretty inexpensive at just over $20. The great thing about this trimmer is you can just point it where you need to trim and then wiggle it around as you hear the blades cutting hair. When you do not hear any more cutting, you can be sure its done the trick. Its also nice that this vacuums the clippings into it, though I cannot confirm if it gets them all or not. At times the vibration of the trimmer inside my nose or ear can be a little uncomfortable, but its not bad enough that I can't ignore it until I'm done. If you're very sensitive, you may not like it however. In order to be sure I had removed all the hair, i move this around and around until I hear no more cutting. In doing so I put it right up against my skin as the blades are enclosed. I did notice what felt like one or two nicks inside my nostril the day after using this. I can only surmise it was from the trimmer, but again it was relatively minor. It went away after a couple of days. Even if this will occasionally nick me, I believe its still safer and more thorough than tweezers or scissors. I review products to help other Amazon users as I have often found reviews useful when looking at products. Unfortunately there are also a lot of unhelpful reviews that are a waste of time. I did NOT receive this product or FREE and I did not even get a discount. No one likes to give me free stuff, so you know this review is 100% Honest and Open. Of course if they start sending me free stuff, I will not waver in my ethics.

Works Well
I got this mainly for trimming the hair out of my ears. It works well for that. I also use it to shorten the nose hair that ends up sticking out of my nose - it works well for that too. And I've used it to take care of stray eyebrow hairs too. much quieter than I expected, I like that. But note: while the instructions show how to open the battery compartment and say to be sure to maintain correct battery polarity, THEY DO NOT DESCRIBE NOR SHOW THE CORRECT BATTERY ALIGNMENT. NEITHER IS THE TRIMMER MARKED ANYWHERE. I FIRST put the AA battery in negative down, and it would not run. I reversed it and it ran. THE BATTERY IS INSTALLED POSITIVE DOWN, NEGATIVE UP in the battery compartment. The drawings in the instruction sheet are the very minimal. WHY CAN'T INSTRUCTIONS USE PHOTOS INSTEAD OF SIMPLISTIC LINE DRAWINGS?. While the box and the instructions say it can be used in the shower or bath. I STRONGLY URGE AGAINST FLOODING THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT WITH WATER. This is an invitation to corrosion that can damage any device. The battery compartment is not water proof in my opinion. I see no advantage in using this wet over dry. I struggled a little getting the battery cover closed, but it is not difficult, you just need to be careful in aligning the cover wit the opening and not forcing it closed, but letting it "click" into locked position. The zippered cloth case is nice and fits well. The protective cover over the blades comes off easily, so I recommend keeping the trimmer covered in the case and not tossing in in a drawer without the case. All in all I'm pleased with this trimmer and glad i got it. Quickly takes care of a chore that is tedious with small scissors or my beard/mustache trimmer. I recommend this trimmer.

Panasonic ER430K Nose, Ear and Facial Hair Trimmer Wet/Dry with Vacuum Cleaning System
[UPDATE] Broken a year later. And warranty? Good luck working with Panasonic. Nightmare and waste of money. I have to say, the Panasonic ER430K Nose, Ear, and Facial Hair Trimmer have revolutionized my grooming routine, and it's not just because it vacuums up those pesky clippings! If you're looking for a trimmer that's not only effective but also provides some entertainment, look no further. First, the vacuum cleaning system is a game-changer. Say goodbye to those awkward, post-trim cleanups where you're trying to shake tiny hairs out of the trimmer while hoping they don't end up in your nose or ear. With this trimmer, it sucks up those unruly hairs like a mini-tornado, leaving you with a clean slate and a clean sink (or wherever you choose to do your grooming). But let's talk about the real fun part – the satisfaction of seeing all those tiny hair clippings get vacuumed away! It's like a miniature magic show happening right on your face. I can't help but chuckle every time I use it. It's like having a tiny, well-behaved hair-eating monster right there in your hand. Aside from the entertainment factor, this trimmer does its job incredibly well. It's precise, efficient, and the wet/dry functionality means you can use it in the shower for some spa-like grooming sessions. Plus, it's compact and easy to travel with, so you can have your grooming magician with you wherever you go. In summary, the Panasonic ER430K Nose, Ear, and Facial Hair Trimmer combine functionality with a dash of humor. It's not just a grooming tool; it's a source of amusement in your daily routine. Five stars for making grooming a little less mundane and a little more magical!

Not close enough, leaves hair too long for comfort
Great, long lasting, but not close enough. I had an older model that would get very close. With this one I feel like I need to use it again the next day to keep my nose from being irritated by growing hairs.

8 years and still going--important fix info
This is my first and only nose trimmer. I was apprehensive at the idea of sticking a spinning cutting machine up my nose, with thoughts of nasty cutting or ripping of hairs. After gingerly tip-toeing into actually using this thing, I soon became confident that it would in fact not do any of these things! In 8 years, it may have pulled a hair once or twice when the battery was about dead, and also 2 or 3 times it sort of bit the inner bony part because I got too aggressive and accidentally turned to an off-angle. Respect this machine, and it will do it's work efficiently and painlessly! I use it for my nose, random ear sightings, and eyebrow trimming. More recently adopting facial hair, it comes in handy spot trimming near my mouth and nose. I love this machine. Runs a long time (months) on one AA battery, throw in your travel bag. Trimming bliss--until 6 months ago. It started cutting out, revving down, back up again, stopping abruptly. Not cool, this is how you could pull hair. Shaking the unit seemed to help. Changing the angle seemed to help. What the hecK? Changed the battery--nope. Cleaned the battery contacts--nope. I thought, maybe the springy minus (-) battery contact got compressed, so I bent it up a little--nope. I was back here on Amazon to buy another unit, and checked the reviews. After getting past all the haters, one person said it WAS the battery contact and that fixed identical symptoms. So...I tried again, this time getting a needle nose pliers and pulling the darned spring up maybe 1/4", seemed greatly excessive and unlikely to make a difference. THAT FIXED IT. I'm and electrical engineer, and it took me 6 months to believe it could be that simple, but it was. Please give this a try to save yours if you have the same symptoms. Yes, this machine uses a lot of plastic, and I can't swear that my 2013 unit is the same as what they make in 2021, but I think this is a high quality product.
