Magic King Size Thumb Tip for Silk Magic Tricks (XL)

I ordered this classic gimmick in king size, because I have big hands. When I recieved it, I was a little dismayed that it was extremely tight. I just tossed it in some boiling water and used a thick marker to stretch it some, and now it fits perfectly. The color is great. Not a perfect match to me, but close enough. I ordered the king size because I wanted a longer TT to disappear cigarettes, do bill exchanges, and the like. Also, Don at Rockridge Magic was extremely helpful when I had some questions. I reccomend both the TT and Rockridge Magic for all of your magic needs.

If you are browsing around looking for a thumb tip, this will probably help you decide which one to get if you're looking for a non-standard one. Vernet's King Size thumb tip has the same diameter as the standard, but is longer. If you have an exceptionally large thumb, you should look into the XL, which has the length of a normal tip but a wider diameter.This is a thumb tip, one of the most useful gadgets a magician can have. As the King Size, it is about half-an-inch or so longer than a 'standard' thumb tip. This makes it a little less forgiving to work with, so you may want to try a normal size one first until you get the hang of using it. Don't stress out about the color or the length, skilled thumb tip workers can use a small green bottle and still leave an audience mystified. Instead, *practice* so you aren't leaving it out where everyone and their brother can catch on. You will be amazed at how effective this little device can be, as long as you practice a little first you can create truly mystifying effects.The tip is made of hard plastic and is incredibly tough -- I put mine through the dryer on accident and got a thumb tip back instead of a horribly deformed mass of plastic. You can adjust the size of the tip by heating it up and stretching it, then lock the new size in by running it under cold water to re-harden the plastic. It is long enough to handle larger silks, cigarettes and bills without much trouble. I do not recommend it for sponge ball vanishes unless you're vanishing the balls to end your routine -- the tip is long enough the balls tend to slide down to the bottom and become impossible to retrieve easily.Overall, this is a good quality product that will serve you well for years if you put in the requisite time spent practicing how to use it correctly. The only reason I subtract a (fraction of, but I round down) star is because of the lack of clarity in the naming conventions.

The plastic on these were too stiff and began to split after one usage. They also had annoying burrs on the edges and were uncomfortable to wear. I'd recommend going with a different kind.

This thumb tip is great for me personally. It has a very similar tone to my exceptional paleness. While wearing there is plenty of room for a larger ciggarette or whatever ends up in there. I have a pretty average sized hand for a male and this tip has the perfect circumference for my thumb.

Good size but too ridged, made of hard plastic, looks a bit too fake

No kidding king size. Not in diameter, but length. I ended up letting my father have this one because his meat hooks were a perfect fit. He wears it as an index finger cover, and I can't even see it when I look at it. Really good. Really long. Not so wide. Great for currency bill disappearances and any other longer thin items. Much more so than typical thumb tip. Read about the guy putting out cigarette in this one. I have yet to try that, but I suspect it would work fine.

As an adult I was concerned about the size of the thumb tip but it fit great for my hands and was close to my skin color. With practice it was easy to put on and take off easily.

A little tight but it works, someone has to invent a thumbtip that has a soft rubbery edge that can blend with the skin, but it works, You just need to know how to hide the thumb tip to keep the viewers from getting a clear view of it. And keep it moving!
