Perfect 💯
Great product and goes a long way!

Great for metal casting. Sets rock solid.
Works great for making sodium silicate molds and sand cores for metal casting. I don't know what grade this sodium silicate is specifically or if its the kind used for metal casting, but it sets up rock solid and works with silicon bronze at 2200F. I mix it in at about 6% by weight, quickly harden with CO2, demolition, and bake it in the microwave to drive off all the moisture.

Lapidary saw use.
I use this product to adhere rocks to blocks of wood so I can run the rocks through a lapidary saw. I cut a flat face on one edge of the rock, then "glue" it using water glass to a piece of 2x4, and the 2x4 can then be held securely in the saw's vice. I've glued up fairly large rocks this way, and they have held well. These are cut on oil saws, and the oil doesn't interact with the water glass. When done, I toss the end piece with board into a bucket of water, and in a few days it will dissolve the sodium silicate so the board pops right off.

Good product, shipping packaging not so much
this product was just what I expected and worked well for what I used it for which was cement for making a small forge. the packing was horrible though basically it was a gallon container of liquid put in a box that was about twice as big as it so was really loosely shipped in the box. It ended up leaking some really didn't lose much product but kind of made a mess inside of the box and on the outside of the package.

Products works great but sometimes it is shipped incorrectly and leaks
Products great but sometimes it is shipped incorrectly and leaks a little, lucky it was wrapped in plastic but not 100% sealed off, So it did get on some of the products it shipped with, fortunately the other products had been in sealed bags and I could just rinse them off.

Great sealer for cement
I use this diluted to seal cement candle vessels. Works great, and zero wax seepage so far.

Used it to seal a head gasket on farmall cub
Used it once. Seems to have sealed my leaking head gasket. Product isn’t packaged well at all. Not sure who’s fault that is.

Excellent quality and price for Sodium Silicate. I use this for my foundry, as a binder for insulation and refractory hot face. Little known fact, a 1-2% TSP (trisodium phosphate) addition will increase the mechanical strength of sodium silicate by 20-40%. I dissolved 400g TSP into a 2L bottle, and a tablespoon of this solution is added to 200mL of sodium silicate before adding any aggregate; my bricks and plinths are much stronger. Don't get ripped off paying inordinate amounts for tiny volumes (pint, 1/2 pint) for sodium silicate when a gallon of this is ideal and of such value it can't be beat. If you're looking for potassium silicate, look for gardening products as a soil additive.

I purchased this product to build a DIY forge. Used it to bind the foundry lining, the product is a perfect thickness, mix’s well. Great value for the money, A gallon goes a long way. I actually bought a second bottle so I can do future projects.

It’s thick and does the job almost too well
