Nutro Wholesome Essentials Dry Cat Food, Adult Cat Food Dry Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe, 5 lb. Bag

My babies will only eat this food. I just took my 10 year old Maine coon to the vet and she was impressed with his teeth, coat and general health. My tuxedo cat is only four and just as healthy and beautiful. I believe it has to do with this food. Low smell, love the large bag, good product and great value.

After much research, I have been feeding my cats Nutro for almost 15 years. No grain, natural ingredients, no GMO. Before switching away from "grocery store brands" my cats had many more health problems from thyroid to diabetes and more in between. Since feeding only Nutro, my cats have been much healthier, their coats are nicer with less shedding, they seem more satisfied, they actually eat less of this than the cheaper stuff. In all the time I have known about Nutro, they have not changed the recipe and the quality remains constant. Highly recommend! Currently, one of my fur babies is a 19 year old cat who has been on Nutro since I adopted him 10 years ago. 19, y'all!!

My cat Artemis is about four years old, and she started having stomach problems where she would throw up her food no matter what. It started while she was eating pro plan dry food which she had been on for the past two years, and it was also the kind the shelter fed her. She was only able to eat wet food but it made my other cat Charles get really bad diarrhea, it was expensive, and made my cats fart a lot. Ever since I started using this Artemis doesn't throw up anymore, and Charles doesn't have bad poops. I also put fish oil on top of their food and the combination makes them a lot softer, and they seem to really like the food. In fact, whenever I get a new bag of the food Charles will try to bite a hole in it and eat out of the bag (even though they already have the food in their bowls. I have an older cat that would throw her food up all the time after she ate. I was giving her Purina gentle originally. It never failed she would throw it up after she ate. I tried swirls next- nope threw it up. I tried a few other brands. Nope. So I did some reading on here from other pet owners with the same issue. I bought a sensitive stomach Science diet and it worked okay but she did not seem crazy about it. I wanted to try this brand and she loves it. No throwing up. She still is hungry after she eats(she wants can food all the time- she may be spoiled)but no throw-ups. I will have to take her to the vet. I think she may have a thyroid issue she never seems to gain weight. This product does the job though- she really does like it.

Ingredient quality I have to take nutro's word but it all sounds good. Flavor and freshness I can't say as i haven't tried it but the cats like it so, I assume it's fresh and the flavor is good. my cats love the adult chicken and they also like, but not quite as well, the salmon and sensitive stomach. the senior and hairball control they refuse to eat.

My KitKat loves this food we have never had an issue with quality.

I have 6 cats. I have always fed top of the line dry cat foods. Other quality dry food had the same ingredients (all good stuff, no fillers, etc.) One of my cats developed a serious allergy (bloody ears from scratching, very sore bum from 'scooting.' Because I was feeding high quality food I figured something else must be the culprit. I changed EVERYTHING; food dishes all stainless steel, water fountain stainless steel, changed cat litter brand, stopped giving cat treats and catnip (everybody still mad abour that). And then as a last resort changed to Nutro. Please keep in mind that ingredients were comparable to other brand I was feeding, but the dry food was the only 'change' left to make. My very long story short(er), all 6 love the new food. Allergy kitty's ears healed up within a couple days (he is off a steroid now), and his poor itchy bum is almost back to normal. I 100% recommend this dry cat food.
