Great Cooking Vessel ...
I just got this wok and it is already proven to be a great cooking tool. I think that a smaller wok would be too small to cook anything worth mentioning. But anything bigger than 14" diameter would be just too large to have on the stovetop. At 14" this is already a fairly sizeable pan. Add the handles and suddenly you are taking up alot of real estate. That is why I keep mine in the oven when it is not being used. Cooking with it is great. I am fortunate that my stove has one very large, very powerful burner where I place this wok. The carbon steel is very responsive to heat changes, but also seems to hold heat very well. Filling the wok halfway with oil I was able to easily make some delicious sweet and sour chicken. The side drain rack we great for these but also restricts access to cooking food, so have a long spider. I was also able to fry about a .25 pound of catfish nuggets at a time without crowding the pan or having a terrible drop in temperature. The flat bottom of the wok is great. You can set it on a burner and turn away without risk of disaster. The wood handles never got more than "warm" while cooking, even with oil splatter hitting the helper handle. The lid is aluminum and incredibly light. I appreciate that it has a smaller diameter than the wok, so it sits about 1/2" below the rim of the wok. Using the wok lid at the same time as the drip rack still makes a decent cover. Unfortunately this wok does not have a pour divot or spout, so like all round pans it is no fun to pour out oil. However, as long as the vessel you are pouring into is stable you can use the helper handle. And that makes the whole job much easier. Cleaning the wok was a breeze. Just some hot soapy water and a wipe down. As I said I store my wok in the oven since it dominates the stove with its size. The accessories are decent quality but might be unneeded extras for some buyers.

Loving it!
I posted a review about the Helen Chen Excalibur wok, and am essentially repeating the same information here. I love these Excalibur pans. They have been the best non-stick pans I've owned. They're tough, durable, and get super hot on just medium heat (hot enough to carbonize/burn/sear food in a minute!) You get a fabulous wok-hee effect on your foods, even with the low heat typical of a household stove. These pans are heavy, so they do not warp (do NOT put it on high heat, it WILL destroy the pan - I wouldn't even put carbon steel or cast iron on high heat - only stainless, and then only to bring liquids to boil). These pans are a breeze to clean up. Hot soapy sponge, rinse, done! Being so heavy, this is a bit of a detraction for me, I have arthritis weakened hands. But, I manage. The Helen Chen Excalibur pans are slightly more expensive, but the quality is worth it to me. If they endure more than 5 years of abuse in my kitchen, I will have gotten my money's worth! These pans tout a 25 year prorated warranty on defects (which probably doesn't mean much, as it does not cover "normal wear or scratches" - but it's nice to see a manufacturer backing their product up with a warranty of any kind these days.) I think this Excalibur coating gives Dupont Teflon a run for their money. I searched for info about newer non-stick coatings, and found a chart that compared several, including Teflon, generic PTFE, ceramic, and others. Excalibur had the better results overall, particularly durability and heat tolerances. Google "excalibur coating" and you'll come across the test results from the manufacturer. Sorry Fabreware & Teflon-Pro, you were good in the past, but now something better has come along. I'm switching all future non-stick pan purchases to Helen Chen's Excalibur :) Now if Helen Chen would make a nice flat griddle pan, for pancakes, and a saute pan for omelets, etc..... :)

Great quality and value
Wonderful wok. Heats quickly and evenly. Non-stick properties still working months after purchase and after weekly usage. Would highly recommend - a good value.

Great Wok for everyday use
Great Product. I am enjoying cooking so many dishes in this nonstick wok. I know regular carbon steel can be non stick but my family who also likes to use the wok don't take the time to care for cookware the way they should be washed and cleaned so I bought this version and it hasn't given me any problems at all. Some might find it heavy but I don't mind.

Outstanding Wok!
I’ve been looking for a good wok for years. It’s been very challenging as I have a glass top electric stove so the good carbon steel woks failed and would stick every time. Then I tried the T-fal nonstick wok since I like their other cookware and it worked well but left a weird film on the cooktop that was a pain to get off. It also wasn’t flat enough at the bottom to get good contact with the cooktop. So I gave this one a try and it performs beautifully. I like that the sides have texture so the food doesn’t just sit at the bottom. Super easy to clean and heats up nice and evenly.

Everything you need!!!
I love my Joyce Chen 10 piece non-stick wok set! It has a non-stick coated flat bottom for cooking on a gas range and wooden handles on opposite ends of the wok for easy lifting. A dome wok lid, Bamboo spatula, tongs, rice paddle, cooking chopsticks, 6pairs of chopsticks, tempuro rack, steam rack, and a recipe book came with the set. No more baking!! I use my wok daily to stir fry vegetables and meat (cut in bite size pieces). It only takes a few minutes to cook and clean. Use 1 or 2 tablespoons of oil and cook on medium-high heat. Wash the wok with mild detergent and warm water, then hand dry. Eat healthy! Enjoy your meal!

Not to heavy heats up quickly
Worked very well the few times I used it so far. Not to heavy and used my old wooden spoon to prevent scratching it. Heat up very well I might add🙏

This is a really excellent non-stick wok. Keeps a good even heat and lives up to all the product information. I use it on an almost daily basis for everything from stir-fries to stove-top stews and it hasn't let me down yet. It is extremely easy to clean - doesn't need to be soaked - and comes up like new every time. My only criticism is that it is very heavy but that is what makes it such an excellent cooking vessel. Unbeatable!

I like this product because I can use it on my gas stove top. The other thing is that everything cooks evenly unlike some other woks which tend to overcook in the middle and being non stick food does not tend to stick and is easy to clean.
