Ona Gel Pro 25.8 oz

This stuff is incredible. Been using it for years. It doesn’t mess the odor. It somehow cleans the air. Don’t know how but I know it works. You can’t go wrong.

This is very different than something that masks smells, like Febreeze. This is an odor deodorizer, which actually attaches to the particles and deodorizes. This stuff is legit. It has a scent similar to a urinal cake, but it's not bad, it has a chemical-type smell. This will get rid of even the strongest odors. If you blow a fan on it, it will not last nearly as long, but work much quicker. It is a jello-like gel that will dry out when & evaporate. If you use a fan, you can rehydrate the gel, which will increase its use, but it'll be less potent. I don't use the fans, I just put it out on a dish. Highly recommend, even though it's pricey.

In the simplest terms, this stuff works. Rat died in out walls. Smell was horrible and unhealthy. Placed this near the issue and it overpowered the bad smell. This does give off a strong citrus smell but .that is better than a rotting rat smell. I recommend.

I haven't had the chance to put it against any of my more problematic smells, but just sitting in its jar it takes care of a lot. Unfortunately, the smell is produces isn't the best. It's not bad by any means, but its heavily reminiscent of fresh urinal cakes. It was also packaged very poorly. Loose in a box with packaging tape wrapped all over the jar to prevent leaking (which didn't work--it arrived with about 1/8th its gel all over the box). However, the gel does what its supposed to and does it well. Use for serious smells.

If I could give this thing 10 Stars I would. We had something horrible die in the walls that started to smell thursday. By Friday it was so strong I was physically ill. We received this on a Saturday and set it up immediately and by the end of the day the smell had improved drastically and off to the point where I could actually walk around in certain areas of my house with mask, that previously I couldn't. I'll be buying more for other areas of my house to deodorize

WORTH THE MONEY. This one I bought was HUGE in comparison to the first ONA product I bought. It's half the size of your average ice cream container. If you need to get ANY smell out of ANYWHERE an ONA jar is the way to go. The gels do dry out much faster than the ONA Block series but they work just as well to ELIMINATE odors. I used an ONA block in the trunk of my car that my sister spilled her gas can in and I couldn't drive without smelling it, and ONA extracted the smell OVERNIGHT and I never had the scent return. And she spilled more than a sip of gas, more like a cup or even a quart. This order went into a bathroom that backed up and we couldn't get the smell out. No more FUNK now, thanks ONA

Short of buying an Ozone generating device, this is hands down the best air freshener money can buy, and I've tried everything. Glade plug-ins smell like chemicals, do a horrible job eliminating smell, and don't last more than a few weeks. Air purifiers in my experience do very little in regards to odor. I've also tried scented reeds, which are expensive and don't have very good coverage. Finally, I tried an aromatic oil nebulizer, but like the scented reeds it doesn't have good coverage and only masks odor. The Ona gel not only seems to quickly suck all bad smells out of a room, it's a gelatinous substance that appears like chunks of ice-- fairly aesthetically pleasing actually. So rather than leaving the ugly Ona jar out somewhere, you can simply pour off some of the slurry into a container of your choice and leave it out. Myself, I take a wide necked vase, pour some ona in, and stick some high quality fake flowers in it-- totally disguises the Ona freshener and appears as a flower arrangement with what looks to be glass beads at the bottom. Excellent product.

I used to work at a gardening store that sold Ona, so I knew it had a good reputation for getting rid of strong, skunky odors. I had a skunky odor problem of my own, so I bought the Ona Gel (on accident, I wanted Ona Block, but that's okay, Gel works fine). I drilled some holes in the plastic lid and set it up by my air purifier so that the outgoing air would pass over the Ona container. This worked extremely well, eliminating all smells in my apartment. I'd wake up in the morning and walk into the living room, and it would smell like Ona and not anything else, so the Ona was actually being circulated around my apartment somewhat by my office air purifier and maybe the HVAC system. Only problem is that my eyes started hurting and I was getting tiny little styes all the time, with red patches and little white pimples under my eyes, and the area under my eyes was very tender and hurt if I rubbed it. After a few days, it dawned on me the only recent change was setting up the Ona on the air purifier, so to test the theory out I put the Ona away in a cabinet and by the next morning my eyes were 80% better and by the second day they were 100% better. So I think clearly something in the Ona was irritating my eyes. So while the Ona Gel definitely eliminated any and all odors in my apartment, I don't think I will be able to keep using it. It's a shame, because even when running two HEPA air purifiers in my office, it can get very stinky and stay stinky for a long time without the help of Ona. I don't think everyone has this problem, and maybe I wasn't meant to leave it out at all times, but I did see one other review about someone saying it affected their roommate's eyes, so I am not alone in this!

The smell can be overpowering out of the container... However! We decided to scoop a few spoonfuls of the gel pieces into glass ramekins. We then placed one ramekin in each room of our house. And wow! The odour is very mild, sometimes indiscernible. When you do smell it we find it smells like a cleaning product - inoffensive, pleasant and refreshing. The gel lasts a few days in a well ventilated area, so a little goes a long way with this stuff. All in all this product is very good and it helps immensely with smells of dog or smoke.

Helpful for neutralising the terrible and long lasting smell of a perished rat or mouse caught in the wall/skirting boards/under the floorboards. It doesn't eliminate it completely but helps towards making the house vaguely habitable whilst waiting for the foul odour to ease with the passage of nature and time! It is expensive but effective and we like that it is made of essential oils as we didn't want to breathe in an artificial fragrance inside our home.
