Pretty cool would have given it 5 stars but see the cons
Pretty cool would have given it 5 stars but see the cons. Giving 5 if console doesn't freeze up again (dropped after 2nd freeze). Back to 5 good support sent me a console to correct issue Pro: Setup worked pretty well but need to read a lot to get a clean setup. Connected easily to my wifi router. Very easy remote sensor setups. Has software abilities that are very cool. Connection to the Weather underground and ambient network, easy and very cool. Love the fact they provide a direct IP to my computer using Easyweather. Easyweather makes setup and loading console data a breeze. Mostly very impressed with this product and would recommended it highly so far. Technical support via email is excellent, really worked and issue!!!!! Really went into details of the cons but very happy so far. Bang for buck is excellent Note this is only after 3 days of operation Cons: (some are not just overall review) Sensor outdoor. • Overall thumbs up • Could be a better seal around batteries and openings. From past experience lil-spiders are going to be trouble. • Better sealing of battery compartment this will cause long term corrosion problems • Better access to internal rain gauge for cleaning. If you owned a rain gauge before cleaning is important Indoor sensor. • Overall thumbs up • Be nice is remote displayed relative rather than relative humidity Console display and WIFI interface • Somewhat thumbs down • Should have had a internal battery so data is not lost during short power outages • Had console freeze for 4 hours required a reset and lost some data but did not corrupt the past or new data. Power cycle console connected quickly back to WIFI. So not horrible but will see if this occurs again (will lower my rating then). After all the big idea here reliable data logging • SD memory access somewhat difficult. Manual should give better guidance on memory size. • Manual should explain operation of internal memory vs scanning rate. • Console software update is difficult using and requires a SD memory chip be nice if they allowed update using WIFI interface or easyweather IP software • Console data timestamp data corruption. Unfortunately pretty typical and difficult to recover from. Seen this on almost all weather stations. This did occur during my initial setups some data records had wrong time and date. Recovery method was to clear console memory. Would be nice if they provided a way to restore memory from the SD card. I believe the corruption occurred during my Easyweather IP setup • Display setting while you can setup for a automatic time for ON/OFF. Be nice if this worked with the MIN/MAX brightness function (I may not understand the display functions) Weather underground setup • Big thumbs UP • Way easy setup and console supports rapid update of key parameters like wind. If you choose to allow it • Lost my weather underground gold star rating because console froze up in the middle of the night for four hours Ambient net (remote site) • General thumbs UP • Using windows 10 with latest updates installed • Little buggy but works pretty nicely • Don’t use it for data backup download is pretty course in daily and weekly modes • Download would not work with my internet explorer of Microsoft edge program. Had to use Google chrome to download the CSV file • SMS (cell phone) texting did not work for a couple days. Not sure why. Email support was very good though. Be nice if they allowed both email and SMS options at the same time • Graphically interface is a bit buggy when looking at maximum details, sometime missing. Be nice if they added daily, weekly and etc to all function like done on outdoor temperature EasyWeather IP (direct connection to computer)) • Big l thumbs UP • Just having the feature is great. I understand this is a beta software version 3.1 but a fair amount for problems. but love the fact I can do a lot of operations without a internet connection • Interface start up and changes are very slow. If you rush it, the commands stack up and can cause all kinds of data corruptions to the setup and screw up you consoles log files. But given that setup the console using the software is way easier then the console setup. • Really no documentation on what some of the functions do like will the clear data download clear the console • When downloading be nice if it have a download all rather than having to screw with date range settings. Seem to pick up the ending date automatically but not the starting date • Allow bigger window size. Be very nice for the graphing functions • Add some info on the console and SD memory card usage please. • Add installing console software updates via this interface • Allow interface to fix of upload fixes to corrupted console memory

A great weather station for beginners and professionals alike!!
This weather station is a very good station for those just starting, or those who have been monitoring the weather for years. It's value comes from the number of sensors, quality build, and accuracy that has thus far, been on par with my more expensive Davis Vantage Pro 2 Wireless Station. We got this station for my sister, who lives about 2 miles from where my Davis station is located. Other than manually having to adjust the barometric pressure, as we live at an altitude of over 6,500 feet, and this can sometimes cause a false reading on a lot of different weather stations, everything else was spot on out of the box. Setup was 1,000 times easier than setting up my Davis station, and everything just worked like it should from unboxing, to installation, to firing up the station and getting it online to report to weather underground. The trick though is an application that you download on your PC called Easy Weather. If you do this, you can pass up the tedious task of having to setup your station through the small monitor that shows you what your station is doing, the LED part of the station that you put up on your wall or set on your desk. If you setup this station through that small monitor, you'll be clicking the little buttons on it for hours, inputting everything from coordinates, to time, to elevation, ect... Using the PC application instead, you can do the same thing through your computer, and believe me, it's much easier to input numbers and letters with a keyboard than with those little buttons on the monitor! It wirelessly programs that monitor through your computer and setup only takes 5-10 minutes. Once that's done, it's ready to go! We got my sisters station up in about an hour, from installing it to programming it and having it report to weather underground. The other really big tip for those who live in areas that get cold, use lithium AA batteries in the outdoor sensor array. Alkaline batteries don't like really cold temperatures, and will go dead within a year from the cold itself. Lithium batteries are not affected in this way, and will last for many years. This way, you won't be needing to go out there and replace the three AA batteries in the sensor arrays belly, and depending on where you mount your station, that can be a pain to do every year. All in all, we are very pleased with the performance and accuracy of this weather station and I would highly recommend it for someone who don't want to spend a lot of money on one, but still wants the accuracy and quality of a more expensive model with all of the sensors you need! Plus, watching your station on the internet is a lot of fun, and seeing how different weather variables fluctuates throughout the day/night is very interesting. Before you know it, you'll be investing in a weather camera to go with your weather station, as the little "Missing webcam" image on your personal weather page on weather underground, is annoying as hell!! lol Have fun and enjoy sharing your weather with all of your family and friends!!
