Brilliance lasts (way) longer
Great strings. My first time with them. I used to play with Daddario's phosphor bronze (12-52) because they lasted longer than just bronze. I got used to their warmth but always missed the brilliance of bronze alone. After a week or so (actually, less than 10 hours of playing) they also got muted and "brown". These Elixirs have 48 hours on them and still got that bright fresh sound. I love them.

Turned my guitar into a keeper.
I went to buy a used guitar with a crack in the neck that was "only in the finish." I showed him it was DEEP into the wood and the repair would cost more than he was asking. I could do it but the price would have to come way down. It still played so I tried it, but I found it had too mellow a tone for my liking. (Probably due to its mahogany back, sides and neck.) I said thanks, but I'll pass. He surprised me by giving me the guitar! A really nice Alvarez that would go for $300 in good shape. I fixed the neck, did some digging and found the Elixir strings are available in "Bright and Focused" or "Rich and Full" tone. They also squeaked less, another issue I had with the guitar as-is. I got the bright ones and these strings deliver on both counts. The sound is lovely. These strings basically changed my fixer-upper guitar from a give-away into a keeper! Can't report on durability yet, which is another big claim for Elixirs, but others have confirmed it's true. I'm a fan!

Big Baby Taylor String of Choice!
If you have a Big Baby Taylor and are looking for this right strings...look no further. For the last 3 months I've replaced my strings at a rate of every 2 weeks looking for that right sound. While the Big Baby comes stock with Elixir Phosphor Bronze Lights, I wasn't too keen on the tingy sound it produced. I really don't like Phosphorous Bronze on any guitar, but I guess some do, hence why they are standard on most Taylors. Not to say I won't switch between the two, I just might prefer the 80/20 way more. Now, I was looking for play-ability, durability, and acoustics in my daily string. They had to be light on the fingers, produce good sound, and just all around feel right. Well, after much looking I came back to my first purchase (these babies) Elixir 80/20 Bronze NanoWeb Lights. I've tried the D'Addario, I've tried basic strings, I've tried Mediums, Phosphorous, etc. etc. Nothing beats these. They are a perfect match for the Big Baby Taylor. Nice bright and old school sound. None of this new tingy Phosphorous sound. So down falls....It seems the coating wears quite quickly with daily playing, in the realm of 3-4 weeks. But hey they are cheap enough and still sound fine even with a worn coating. You could definitely get a few months out of these with some peeling of the coating. I have yet to try the Polyweb which is suppose to be a thicker coating. On a side note, being a super health conscious person I've looked for research regarding the health impact of Fluorocarbon (the coating Elixir uses by Dupont) and human absorption through skin. While I know so many companies just use these chemicals cause they work, most really don't study the health effects of these chemicals on users. Well, I'm here to conclude that I'm still on the fence of the coating issue. While most research say yes non-cured fluorocarbon cause disease and cancer and is found in the blood over periods of time of users of fluorocarbon, then no cured fluorocarbon does not because it provides such a strong bond between the fluoride and carbon molecules (those who don't know fluoride is toxic to the body and thyroid don't buy fluoride toothpaste). While I don't fully believe this research and found that many people have unnatural fluorocarbon floating around in their blood (possible carcinogen) we are still at risk. Anyways, that doesn't really deter me from purchasing these. I guess what I'm saying is I'll take the risk and keep sweating the toxic junk out (sweat is the only proven way to rid the body of man-made chemicals like fluorocarbon...thanks dupont for the chemicals you so lovingly provide us with). To conclude, stay healthy and keep jamming! Life is short and stressful; jamming cures all.

Too much of a good thing?
These strings really made me question what I wanted in a guitar string. Going into these strings, I've played on various brands, including Ernie Balls, and always loved the pop and sparkle of new strings. I'd heard that Elixir essentially provides just that, but for longer. A win-win, right? I pulled these bad boys out pf the package and threw them on my Yamaha FG-435, my trusty acoustic. Sure enough, they were bright. Oh, god, were they bright. Compared to my old, dead strings, which sounded musty, and well, dead, these strings sounded like pots and pans being thrown down a flight of stairs, or my drummer hitting his china crash cymbal. So much sustain! So many harmonics! Such detailed tone! I felt overwhelmed by too much of a good thing. A month or so down the line, these strings have definitely mellowed out a bit. They retain a lot of that sparkle and snap that I'd usually associate with new strings, and have lost much of the abrasive, overbearing qualities that they had fresh out of the nitrogen purged plastic packaging. While they certainly aren't subtle, I would no longer call them brash, and I've come around to enjoying playing them quite a bit. The plasticy exterior feels great, so they're fun to bend and slide on. I'd certainly gig on these strings. I came into this purchase expecting the best strings I've ever owned, and in some ways, I got what I wished for. They're bright, retain many of the qualities of fresh strings for much longer than their non-coated brethren, and feel nice under my fingers. In other ways, I really did not enjoy the sound fresh out of the box, and the strings lack some of the subtle low tone of other strings. I certainly feel like I got my money's worth (I've got about two months on these string, and would guess I could get around six more at least), but I'm not ready to call these strings God's gift to acoustics. My next pair of strings will probably be uncoated, but it's certainly possibly that I will return to coated strings and Elixirs in the future. If you want a string that feels and sounds fresh and bright for much longer than traditional strings, than this is it. But, be careful what you wish for.

Sempre usei essas cordas. São ótimas, duram muito e têm um bom timbre. O melhor foi encontrar eles num preço ótimo aqui na amazon, comprei duas originais importadas pelo preço de uma.
