Fluke L206 Deluxe White LED Hat Light

This is my fifth purchase of Fluke Hat Light. I use it constantly at work as an electrician. Most electric panels are dark, the Fluke light can be set at any angle, I need to angle the light down so I can see through the progressive portion of my glasses.

The light contacts fell of after a slight usage. Definitely, not the Fluke type of quality we've used to.

The clip is VERY weak. Light falls off of hard hat way too easy. I thought the light would be brighter also. I'm a Fluke fan but this particular product isn't so great. Dewalt hat light is much better.

Fluke is a gold standard with quality and application, but this product is a joke. The hard hat strap has an extremely hard time staying on your hard hat unless you zip tie it down, which most people do with their headlamps anyway, but this one still has too much play and not enough adjustment. The clip that attaches the light onto the mount does not mate very securely. It's very easy to fall off if it gets bumped, or when you even try to turn on the light. The whole setup is just poor design. There are too many loose moving parts for something that should be simple. Since you have to twist the end of light to turn it on, the light will rotate on it's swivel making it a two hand process. And that's if the clip doesn't work its way off the mount first. I just don't get why the light would need a swivel attachment. It does you no good, and it doesn't hold in place even if you wanted it to. Plus once the light is sticking straight out it looks absolutely ridiculous. And to put salt in the wound, the light itself isn't even that bright. At least not to the standards that most people in the industrial setting are used to. You're better off buying a better design if you want a headlamp. I personally prefer to carry a small flashlight in a holster on my belt. I thought I'd try this namely because of the brand, though I was questionable about the design before I bought it. I figured maybe I could find a way to make it work, but that didn't pan out very well. Your best bet if you get this, is to already have a plan B to mount it differently than by design. If you can think of a good way to make use of this design, then good for you. But for me it's going to sit in the toolbox until I find a use for it, or decide to throw it out one day. At least it isn't expensive like most fluke products. But then again like most Fluke products, you get what you pay for.

Great price (About $15) and works as expected. Fry's asks $45 for this.

Light works good but strap was useless on hard hat.

Very disappointed with the way the light attaches to the mount....don't buy if you work in construction, great light otherwise. Within 5 minutes it was on the ground and after it happened two more times I through it back in my tool bag and pulled out my old $14 Defiant light to get things done.
