I wanted a simple lock to replace a 4 year old Kwikset 907...this one is very similar so I didn't have to change the deadbolt, which saved time. Programming was easy as well as I alway had trouble changing the code on the Kwikset.I wasn't looking for Bluetooth, fingerprint, or WiFi...just a basic lock. This has a nice finish and was simple to install.Great Value for the money

Replaced an older Schlage push button lock. Great lock at a great price!!Easy to program after giving it a little extra thought. Instructions for programming aren’t as clear as should be. It doesn’t tell you which side of the top “lock/unlock” button to push while programming. If you push the middle of the button, it won’t work. Push the “unlock” side for programming. Would have taken me 10 minutes LESS had they included that tiny bit of info.

We purchased two of these deadbolts - one works, but the buttons are difficult to used - it takes real effort to punch the numbers. Our second one doesn't work at all we have tried removing batteries, we are able to change the PC to the one we want, but the deadbolt doesn't recognize the user code. We've tried deleting all codes and reentering them and we are always able to enter the PC again, but the user code WILL NOT work. There is supposed to be a one year warranty on Amazon Basics, but I'm unable to return it. This was purchased for a build project and it took longer than anticipated so they didn't get installed withing the 30 day return window...I get 30 days if you just want to return it, but when it doesn't work there should be other options. Dont buy this...I read some of the other reviews and should have paid more attention to them.

I have "brand" name electronic lock on my door that I spent well over $100 for. I wanted to get my parents one, but wanted to save so money so I tried this one. I am so mad that I spent the money on my "brand" name one. This lock is great.Pros:It looks very nice. I purchased the satin nickle and it adds a very sleek look to the door.Very easy to install and program. Honestly it took about 8 mins to remove the old lock and add the new.Super easy to use. Punch in your code and it automatically unlocks. To lock, just push one button.Cons: (Not really any, just a few observations)The part of the lock on the inside of the door is large. It take up about 8 inches on space on the back.If you live in a humid climate, like I do you may have to pull the doorknob when the lock opens and closes due to the wood swelling. The lock won't lock or retract if it hits resistance.Overall I love this lock. It looks great, works well, and is easy to use and install. For the price you can't beat it; in fact Amazon could raise the price (please don't) and it would still be worth it. I will be buying more and putting them on all my exterior doors.

Replaced an existing Key bolt mechanism with the Basics keypad mechanism. Installation was straight forward and worked like a charm. It makes unlocking and locking the door very convenient.
