The screws supplied do not match the pre threaded holes into which they need to be screwed. 5 screws are required to mount the 2.5inch adaptor into the caddy. Unfortunately the screws have a different thread than the caddy and cannot be used. This makes it necessary to re-drill and re-thread the holes.

Theses caddies came very well packaged in a Workdone branded box and inside, each item is individually wrapped to protect them. You get six sets of caddies, each in two-pieces. There is the housing for the drive and the key thing here is that it cannot only take 3.5” drives but also 2.5”. Making them quite versatile. You also get a set of 4-screws to attach the drive. These are also the latest generation of these caddies from Workdone – 14th Gen and you do get an excellent 4-year guarantee with them. When using in 2.5” format, these will also take NVMe SSDs but this type of drive will only work if your server supports it. So, best check first. These come with an excellent 4-year guarantee, should there be any issue with them, and they also guarantee compatibility. So, if they do not work with your server, they offer a full refund. This product is designed to be used in its manufacturer’s drive cage or server where it can be slid in to engage with runners specifically designed for the caddy and where the light guide for the front panel indicators can be fed. The vented door at the front is a bit of a puzzle as you can’t retrieve the HD through it and the 2.5” HD carrier blocks any appreciable ventilation it may offer. So this caddy is part of a bespoke system and therefore not suitable as a standard internal CD/DVD aperture caddy in a PC case - my mistake!

Wollte bei Dell einfach leere Caddys kaufen um meine vorhandenen Platten weiterzunutzen. Das ging aber leider nach hinten los und man wollte die Dinger ausschließlich MIT Platte verkaufen... das wollte ICH aber nicht. Und so wurde ich auf diese Dinger hier aufmerksam. Was soll ich sagen. Sehen aus wie das originale Produkt und haben bei mir absolut den selben Dienst verrichtet wie die eine originale DELL-Platte, welche ab Werk dabei war. Jederzeit wieder! Hatte insgesamt 8 Stück bestellt. Top! Ist zwar nicht billig, aber trotzdem günstig :)

You get all the screws you need with spares. They also give a magnetic screwdriver, and some labels. Comes in a nice box, everything recyclable. Really impressed.
