DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* Cordless Drill Combo Kit, Compact (DCK278C2)

I use these tools around the home so they don't get used every day, but I chose Dewalt based on the experiences of people I know who use them daily in the their jobs. This kit comes with two small batteries, one for each tool, which I like for size and weight. If you use these tools for your job, a kit with larger batteries are probably better for that type of use. Since there are two batteries, I can swap one out, if needed, while the other is charging. I use the impact driver mostly and it works great. The speed and torque is easy to control with the trigger. The drill also works well with a nice chuck. With the useful kit of bits and a nice bag and you have a great combo kit.

As always...my batteries, my replacement batteries, for my dewalt 18V set were all starting to die. Not charging or charging and lasting 2 minutes in the drill etc. I wasn't going to spend money on a third pair of batteries when they are pretty old 18V set of drills so I looked for a bargain on a newer set knowing usually a new set with batteries and charger is about the same as just two good batteries. I stumbled across this compact lightweight perfect set complete with drill, Impact, two batteries, charger, and rugged carrying case. So far the I am still on the first charge and first battery using mostly the Impact to break loose a certain bolt on an auto part I work on and rebuild and so far it has done everything I have asked of it and still hasn't required a recharge. I miss my OLD 14V Dewalt, I have been a Dewalt only man since Dewalt 12V, when even loaded with whatever in the chuck the gun would stand upright on it's battery. Finally, this set dose that. I know it's a silly requirement to have for a drill, there are certainly much more important things for an electric cordless drill set to have. But since this checks all the other boxes it's great that they also stand on their batteries, even chucked with a heavy socket. I love the small compact design and they feel great and comfortable to hold and do all I have asked so far.

i generally use this drill to quickly unscrew virtual boys thats i repair but its handy around the house and yard too. my old drill died on me after years of use so i got this. it so much nicer and lighter seems to have the same amount of power as the old drill! i have more control using it for general projects too and it has a built in light which is night for dark hight spots. the extra drill was a nice bonus so i dropped that one down at my office for general use then. great so far!

After years of other brands I of crappy cordless drills I finally bit the bullet and bought the Dewalt. Should have done it years ago. Well worth it and as other tools wear out will be replacing with Dewalts. Finally, a cordless drill that has the power of a corded drill which is nice. Just grab it, choose a bit and go to town. I had never thought about owning an impact driver but for the price of the kit it just made sense. Now that I have it I don't know how I ever made it to this age without one. It's nice have the drill set up to drill and the driver setup to, well frankly, drive screws, and driving screws it does well. The batteries last long enough for what I need it for though I would understand if someone wanted to upgrade to a larger AH battery.

I'm using this for typical homeowner tasks. Assembling things, mounting pictures, changing door hinges, that kind of thing. I bought this kit to replace a dead Makita drill, so I had a lot of tasks around the house that had been waiting for a new driver & drill. The battery life on these is great - I swapped out hinges for 10 doors (including a lot of re-swaps as I adjusted the door swing), hung some pictures and when I came back a week later to swap some doorknobs, I'd forgotten to recharge the batteries but that wasn't a problem, it just kept chugging along. It comes with two batteries, one for the driver and one for the drill.

High end tools and cheaper than the box store
