Excellent lancing device for painless finger pricks
The lancing device that came with my glucose meter (OneTouch Verio IQ) was painful to use, and would occasionally fail to create a finger prick that produced enough blood for the test strip to work correctly. So occasionally I had to finger prick myself two times. You also had to pull out the lancet from the device using your fingers (risking yet another prick). After many years of use, it eventually broke and so I had to purchase a new one. After much research I decided to go with the Auvon lancing device. I have my Auvon lancing device set to 3 (it has ten possible positions), and it is much less painful than the OneTouch lancing device. The manufacturer claims that the lancing device results in less pain because it jabs your finger straight with less sideways vibrations. I also think that the 30 gauge lancets are better than the ones that the OneTouch meter used. The lancets themselves are ejected by sliding a lever forward, and not by pulling it by hand. The Auvon lancing device is also much more reliable, and every finger prick produces enough blood for the test strip to work correctly. So double finger pricks are a thing of the past for me. The lancing device is armed by pulling the rear knob back, this works quite smoothly every time. The trigger button is brilliantly designed. It is a clear plastic button that is blank when the lancing device is not armed, and then turns red when the lancing device is armed and ready to go. In total, this device is much more nicer to use than the OneTouch lancing device. I believe that it's a worthy upgrade to the basic lancing device that comes with most glucose meters.

Easy to use
I have used several devices, this one is so easy to use. So MUCH better than the ones insurance provides and reasonably priced

Painless!
Absolutely painless! There's still minor pinch in the lowest setting from my old device. However, I cannot feel anything even in the middle setting of this one. I triggered it many times to make sure it's working because I couldn't feel any pinch at all. I finally had to squeeze my finger to check if blood comes out. Totally surprised that it works without feeling anything! So happy that my old device needs replacement, otherwise, I wouldn't know there's painless device. Highly recommended! Bonus - it can use my Free Style Lite lancets.

Best device for my needs I have found so far
Overall quite good given the low cost. I use this to test my cat's blood sugar so wanted the clear tip to aim at the right spot on his ear, which *kindof* works, but the needle doesn't really poke in the center of the circular opening so there is some guesswork/variability (so far I haven't found a device without this problem). My other issue is that the trigger button is hyper-sensitive, so you have to be careful not to brush it before you're ready (I've gotten used to that now). I use Relion lancets in it (30g) and they fit just fine--I set the device at depth 2. I like that the clear part of the tip is removable for cleaning (BIG plus and a feature I haven't found on other lancing devices at this price point). The ejector feature is something I can't do without now that I'm used to it. I hope the device will hold up. I've been using it less than a month so far.

Easy and Effective for testing blood glucose
These work great! It is great to be able to adjust the depth of the lancets. I find these much more effective than what I eas previously using. Highly recommend.

Super Gentle Lancing Device
I bought this lancing pen for my diabetic cat. I wanted something that was gentle and after I had tried the lancing device that came with his glucometer - it hurt. So he needed something gentle. This lancing device is AMAZING! I tried it on 1 on some tender flesh of my finger. Barely felt anything and it didn't hurt. I got a nice droplet of blood as well. So this lets me know it will work perfectly for my diabetic furbaby and be gentle on him enough to test his ear or paw pad and not traumatize him. I did have a little bit of a difficult time straight out of the box, the instructions were saying to unscrew the end piece and even the 'how to' video stated that. It took a lot of strength to get it unscrewing. So, IF yours doesn't seem to want to unscrew, don't give up. Give it some more strength, that thing will come undone. Watching the video lets you see what direction it unscrews as well- that helped me a lot.

Well made device. Can use generic lancets. More settings to find what is comfortable for you.
For those who have to check blood sugar during the day, this device is easy to use. Seems accurate. Can use the generic lancets that I usually buy. Pleased with that. More levels to set to find what is comfortable for you. Happy I purchased this item.

Not deep enough.
According to description there are supposed to be 10 settings. There are only 5 and they still won't go deep enough for a good draw.
