Makes 24 eggs total. Hard-boiled eggs, dyed deep red to symbolize the redeeming blood of Christ, are a Greek (or Eastern Orthodox) tradition at Easter. The egg is further symbolic in that it is an emblem of the Resurrection: it contains life motionless; in like manner, after being motionless in the grave, the resurrected come forth with new life. On Easter and the following week, the general greeting "Christos Anesti!" (Christ is Risen!) and the reply "Alethos Anesti!" (Truly He is Risen!) are heard among the faithful. And since we were not going to eat them, I left them in dye for 40 minutes. Not the 20 in directions. Did that because of pink egg complaints.

Good die for eggs
This guy works beautifully, and is easy to use. I ordered it every year for my Easter eggs.

Eggs for Greek Easter
People complained eggs turned out pink. Mine were fine. They recommend using brown eggs. From my photo you can notice some darker red. Those are brown eggs. It’s hot pink
If you are looking for a traditional deep red color, it’s not happening. It’s a hot pink color. Not what I expected.

I bought the product to dye Easter eggs and eggs came out awful. Color was inconsistent and certainly if I were having guests to do our customary cracking. They would never be served. Reached out to seller and was told they never had any problems. But only told me it was something I did wrong. Nice customer service 😡
