This is a well-built and versatile device. Although a 5-star product, there is room for improvement making this a 6-star item: 1. Add a fuel gauge window. 2. Make the safety lock optional or do away with it completely. IMO, the safety switch is unecessarry and frankly a nuisance because it must be engaged on every ignition attempt (it may take multiple tries to light). The ignition thumb button requires a decent amount of force to depress and extinguishes as soon as it is released. If a child has the strength to depress & HOLD that button and the wherewithal to simultaneously engage the flame lock, then the child would certainly have no problem figuring out the safety switch. The good news is, this switch can be easily removed by removing 5 Phillips head screws, carefully removing the housing, and removing the switch and the associated small spring (see pic). Reinsert the larger spring, align the thumb button into the recess, and reassemble. Regardless, still a great product with many uses. I mainly bought it to heat & soften ½" underground irrigation hose lines for repair using barb fittings. Yes a heat gun can perform the same, but, the convenience of not needing to drag out a 75' extension cord and the small form factor when huddled in a small hole makes this an ideal device. There are certainly cheaper solutions, but the build quality and versatility of this unit sold me. It's excellent and I look forward to trying out the other features it offers. By the way, I have two of these units and burn Zippo (from Amazon) butane in one and Bernzomatic (from Home Depot) in the other. Both burn fine with no issue and produce the same flame output. Neither of these butane products make any mention about the "refined" purity and and I'm a bit of a skeptic re the 3x, 5x, 11x, 99x "refined" no-name products based on some of their reviews. My only advice is to be sure the stem of the butane product correctly fits the torch. In the case of the two products I've used, no adapter is required, although I believe the Bernzomatic provided the best fit and least amount of lost butane during the filling process.

Works for what I need however it takes a few tries to get it to light.

This is a very well thought out kit with a really nicely designed micro torch and the tips for soldering small wire and it also includes the tip for converting it into a hot knife and a small heat gun for use with heat shrink wrap. It is also large enough and hot enough to solder copper pipes and has a runtime of 2 hours on a low heat setting and I think that it would be substantially less runtime on the high power setting needed for soldering pipes. I have used mine under the sink to heat the supply shut off and was then able to remove the 40 year old valve and replace it with a new ball valve with a 1/4 turn to shut it off. I have many plans for my little torch. It seems like a great tool and I think it will last and serve my needs for a long time

The torch works ok, would be nice to mention with butane to buy. doesn't come with any. It's a good product for the price. I use it for heat shrinking electric connections. just be careful and don't get close.

I use the heck of of this little torch mostly for the tiny heat gun which is a big surprise to me. It works so well on small spots and for heating wax amp to a smooth finish. The only draw back is I have a hard time starting the torch. It will only start 50% of the time. The safety lock also sticks making it hard to light (why we need this feature I don't know). In spite of this i really like this little torch.------Review modified. See below for some fixes if you are having the same issues of having a hard time starting the flame the mini heat gun feature. Use high quality butane per manufacturers specifications. My issue did not fall here read on. How to engage heat gun feature 100% of the time. Gently push trigger in until you hear the gas hissing and then slowly push the trigger until you hear the igniter click.This gives the tiny chamber enough time to fill with enough gas to ignite every single time. The same can be said for the torch itself. Don't mash the button treat it with a gentle touch and it will light every time. So the review turns out to be user error. The thumb safety on mine was sticking and I was fiddling with it after the merchant rep reached out to me. I was trying to one hand ignite the torch and a small snap happened and now the thumb switch is operating flawlessly. My guess is a bit of flashing on the plastic? Nevertheless it seems to be working in both right and left hands smoothly and without issues. I will alter my review to 5 stars. Terrific little torch.

Gekocht op Amazon als gebruikt 'als nieuw'. Eerste keer was defect apparaat, teruggestuurd en tweede brander in top conditie en inderdaad 'als nieuw'.. Prima brander, vervangende hulpstukken zijn wel extreem duur, maar goede kwaliteit.

It's ok, after almost a year of use the ignitor has quit. Update to 5 stars: I reached out to Lexivon about purchasing a replacement ignitor and they have advised against repairing the torch and have sent me a replacement torch free of charge. Top notch customer service!
