Got this mug for a family member who loves doctor who and they loved it, large enough to be a pen or snack holder, though I wouldn’t recommend drinking out of it due to its square sides. Looks cute and is an amazing gift!

It’s a great cup. You can’t drink from it since it’s big and heavy. But it’s great for storing items in it. I store my loose tea leaves in it.

This looks spectacular and I love having it on a shelf, but it has two major flaws as far as a mug is concerned. -It's hard to drink out of. This should be obvious from the shape, and anyone surprised by it isn't really thinking things through, but I thought I'd reiterate it. I did use it for a week or so as a mug, and it's not impossible, but it takes some getting used to. -I have no idea what one is supposed to do with the lid. The lid is necessary to complete the look of the TARDIS, so I totally understand why it's there, but while the mug is in use, it's just a counter clutterer. Oh, and one other minor quibble, there really isn't a reason for this mug to not be machine washable, it would have been just as easy to use paint that could handle a trip through the wash. NONE of these complaints are things that aren't an inherent design of the product. These aren't mistakes these are just consequences of having a mug that looks like a TARDIS, so I feel it isn't fair to take off points for them, but do be sure you know about them in advance.

This is a beautiful item. It's really pretty, and exactly as shown on the picture, great quality too. You might think that the square shape makes it hard to drink from, but it poses no problem at all to me, even if you drink from the edge rather than one of the corners. The drink will stay warm for a good while, even more so if you make use of the lid, and it takes up a lot of liquid - so really, it does seem like it's bigger on the inside! Also, do remember to follow the instructions: don't microwave it, and wash it by hand always, it'll preserve the details. I haven't had any issues at all, but I've been careful to follow these instructions, especially seeing reviews from other clients. All in all, it is absolutely perfect for any Whovian. I've wanted this mug for the longest time, and I'm so happy I finally have it! You won't regret it!

I was replacing an older TARDIS mug after the lid got dropped and smashed into 100s of pieces. The old mug was bigger than a standard coffee mug, and this one is even bigger that that -- making it a little too big for my personal taste. Filling it up is too much to start out with (for me), and it is harder to clean since it is so deep. It is a really nice mug if you want more liquid, but I'd prefer a slightly smaller version.

I bought this and the rest of the set as a wedding gift for my friend's son and daughter-in-law. I never got a thank you note (kids, right?) but I did hear back from the parents who said the kids loved them. I had had the items drop shipped so I never got the chance to see them. But just the other day my wife ordered the mug to give as a present to her boss. It arrived today. It's bigger than I thought it would be, and it's very authentic-looking. I really like it. Would I drink from it? Hell, no. It's made in China and the paint is brightly colored. It probably has uranium or polonium in it. I'm kidding, sort of. I mean, it doesn't glow in the dark or pick up transmission from outer space, but it would have been nice for the company to have included a written guarantee stating that the product is free of lead and other harmful materials. It's also square, like the tardis, so drinking from one side will leave you with a lap full of your favorite beverage.

I bought this mug to use at work and I am thoroughly pleased. The detail is excellent and it's just sooo nerdy, I love it. The lid is nice for keeping the temperature up while steeping tea, especially here in Colorado where water boils at a lower temperature. I always hand wash it so I can't attest to how well this would hold up to repeated trips trough the dishwasher, but with my hand washing only the color and detail are holding up very well. One thing you have to get used to is the square shape, you have to drink from the corners. That alone is not enough to overcome the nerdy awesomeness of a Dr Who Tardis mug and lower my rating from 5 stars! If you love Dr Who, or even if you only like it (I don't know how you could only like that show) you should buy this mug. Do it!

I'm a huge Dr Who fan and this makes a great addition to my collection, love the detail.

Unlike several reveiwers of this mug (c'mon 'fess up), I BOUGHT IT FOR MYSELF!! As a matter of fact, I bought 2 so that my much suffering other half could have one as well. Now, I have to point out that I am only an adult as a direct result of my having had too many birthdays. In my mind, I'm 14 year old fan of the show and have spent £100's and £100's on 'toys' (which I prefer to call 'collectables'in front of grown-ups) since the show came back in 2005. These mugs look the part and they will keep my hot drink hot whilst I'm busy wrapped in the latest adventure. The lid will stopped my dunked biscuits from falling into the tea while I'm waiting for a gap in the programme to enable me to locate my mouth.. My poor old boyfriend has had 33 years of my belief in the Good Dr and his battles against evil, going all the way back to Tom Baker. At my time of life, I have watched since William Hartnell and while not quite as scared of the Daleks as I was, I can remember all that tat we were allowed to buy in the 60' & 70s. So I can say that this mug is the best Dr Who mug I have ever seen. The merchandise seem to genuinely be improving since 2005 and let's hope the powers that be keep it that way. I just hope my army of Daleks don't destroy the mug too quickly.
