4WD Spindle Socket Hub Socket Hub Nut Socket with 1/2" Inch Drive ABN 7436-7443_PARENT

This is exactly what I needed to work on my 1979 K2500 GMC pickup. The truck has the GM corporate 14 bolt rear end with full floating axles and 13 inch brakes. This is the correct socket to remove the special drum/spindle nuts to service the rear axle bearings and rear brakes and seals. I feel it's a must have to do the job properly. There are other sockets out there that will work but this one is more affordable and does the job just fine. Also this socket works right out of the box with no modifications. For the guy who does the maintenance on his own vehicles this is the ticket, will last for years.

I didn’t use it on the vehicle it was made for so I had to do a bit of modification but it worked very well for my needs.

fits a Dana 30 front axle Warn or yukon front hub conversion kit I think it is also the same size as a CJ dana 30 OEM spindle nut and a Dana 44 front axle.

I bought this for a GM 14 bolt (10.5” ring gear). I knew I’d be taking the hubs on and off a few times for a custom build so rather than using a punch - which works very easy) I picked this up. I ended up reading another review or YouTube (don’t remember) where it was mentioned to round the pins that grab the axle retaining nut. This didn’t fit cleanly until I rounded the edges. Once I did that with a grinder (5 minutes) - works like a charm.

Haven't used it yet but looks like good quality.

Although I knew ahead of ordering, I only give 3 stars as this socket does NOT fit many of the trucks listed. The tabs are squared and my 1986 Chevy K30 bearing retainers accept rounded tabs only. Socket tabs will need to be rounded with a grinder to work. Others have submitted photos here of what needs to be done.

Had to file the corners a bit. But for $16 it worked for me.

Like others have stated, It does not fit as it should. The teeth are off. You must take a grinder or file to the teeth to get it to fit into the slots on the spindle nut.

Product was made well but just didn’t fit contrary to what the description said of it fitting 1995 and up models. I bought a larger one from Lordco which is shown in the photo (on the left) to give a size comparison. I ended up returning it with no issues.

Ordered after i got the job done for use on next job. Doesnt fit well at all. Pattern is right but just a bit too small so wont work to put a ratchet on it. Could shave inside of of tangs but not much meat there so dont want them to snap when i do use a ratchet.

I have 2000 F250 and it’s missing a 1/4 inch all around for it to fit.
