I had bunion surgery and a screw put in my foot and was told to sleep with my foot elevated and in a still position. I had a terrible time sleeping with the stiff shoe that the dr had given me, but was too nervous not to wear anything. Even with the stiff shoe, it hurt to have the weight of the blankets on top of my foot!! I found this boot on amazon and figured that I had nothing to lose. It has been a LIFE SAVER for me. The boot comes up just high enough past my toes that I can put blankets over my foot and it doesn't hurt. The fabric is plush and soft, and the velcro is tight enough that my foot stays in place but doesn't restrict my circulation. I am finally getting a normal nights sleep again and my foot is healing. I would recommend this to anyone that is recovering from foot or ankle surgery to use at night. It is worth the price x 10.

My mom has Alzheimer’s Disease, and I take care of her. Her mobility is getting worse. I noticed 2 big blisters on her heels caused by pressure from the bed. One popped and it’s now a stage 2 pressure ulcer. I took her to her podiatrist and I have supplies for dressings. I ordered these boots to relieve the pressure on her heels while she is in bed, and I’m very glad I ordered these. It’s a very comfortable soft material. They are made well. I really like that there are holes where the heels are because you can feel they are elevated and not touching anything. It also makes it easier to check the foot is in the right position in the boot. My mom says they are comfortable and I’m hoping with time, the blister and ulcer will heal.

We purchased these for my 95 year old aunt, to cushion her feet while she is resting in bed. She doesn't move around on her own and stays in the same position for several hours at a time. They are extremely soft and well-cushioned. They seem to be working quite well, she's not had any more skin breakdown on her feet. There are two issues that could be addressed with the comfort of these. 1) They are a bit heavy. We were surprised at their weight. 2) The edges of the straps that keep them in place on my aunt's feet are sharp and not cushioned at all. The edges are just the fabric edge; polyester, or whatever they are made of. They would be a bit safer as we are sliding them on and off of her feet, if the cushioning material wrapped around the edges of the straps. Other than those two issues, they are great!

Bulky, pricey, but well designed. These have one important feature softer pressure sore/heel protection “booties” don’t have - an actual hole/opening right at the most vulnerable area of the heel. This means it doesn’t actually cushion the heel, it keeps it floating above the mattress avoiding any contact or friction. Merely for prevention you may or may not need this level of protection but if treating an existing sore this product is durable, sanitary, and very helpful. The user has no major complaints about comfort, but some may not like the rigid, encompassing “boot” design. He does switch between these and smaller, softer bootie types as long as there is no sign of an issue (redness, burning, etc.) but if there’s even a hint of a problem these go on exclusively.

My doctors have been overwhelmingly pleased when they see these on my feet. I am bed/home-bound (thus I am fortunate to have doctors visit me in my home) so eventually the “burning heel” from constantly being on my bed and not moving began to affect my heels. I tried all of the other cheap “heel cushion protector pillows” out there, frankly because they were so much cheaper, but the others didn’t make it so your heels were lifted off of the bed. They were just resting on an additional cushioned surface so that your heel wasn’t supposed to ever sink enough to be against the firm surface of your bed. Well, not so. They are not thick enough to prevent your heels from sinking through to the bed within a few hours of putting them on. These “boots” have an elevated padded platform to support the back of your ankle/calf and then, where your heel would begin, it drops off, forming a well so the back of your heel doesn’t touch any surface at all. Additionally, there is a hole cut out so the bottom of your heel doesn’t touch anything, either. Evidently I have one heel that is formed differently and I need to add a folded wash cloth to the platform, right before where the “well” begins, to lift that heel higher so that it has absolutely no chance of sinking down to a firm surface. Easy solution, though! My other heel works great In the boot! I bought these one at a time and even tried them on each foot to make sure they worked because of their expense but they really are quite wonderful! I could have saved all that money I spent trying cheaper solutions and just gone straight to these! They are a great product - the real deal. Plus - they are proudly made in the USA! Woohoo!

It works well when straps are tightened. However it's difficult to get the straps through the loops. The Velcro is too strong.

A very well made product with lots of padding. Easy to clean with just some soap, water and a cloth. Protects not just the heel but the side and underside as well. Just follow the fitting guidelines and you’ll be ok.. I wish I had gotten the larger size .
