Moultrie Deluxe Camera Mount

I purchased the Moultrie Deluxe Camera Mount for two reasons:1. Set up high on trees with a steeper angle onto deer trails/feeding areas/mineral licks2. Seamless use with a Moultrie M-990iOVERVIEWI purchased this mount hoping to be able to hang a Moultrie M-990i higher in a tree with a decent downward angle. As other reviewers have mentioned, this mount "looks to be a great idea", however, in the field it falls short and doesn't accomplish everything it should.UNBOXING AND FIRST USEThis mount was packaged well and upon initial inspection worked very well with my Moultrie M-990i. However, when I got the mount into the field I noticed it wasn’t going to accomplish what I wanted, namely the ability to set up close to a trail with a steep camera angle down onto deer trails, feeding areas, and mineral licks.PROSThis box comes with everything needed to install Moultrie trail cameras onto trees, fence posts etc. There is ample nylon strap length to install this mount on trees of 2’ in diameter, maybe more. There is an included brass threaded adapter so that this mount will work with “newer” Moultrie models. And out of the box it will work with older courser threaded Moultrie cameras.CONSFirstly, the steepest downward angle I was able to achieve on a straight tree was about 25°, which greatly limits the proximity you're able to set up the camera and mount (depending on the height). If you want a steep angle to set up close to a trail and/or feeder out of the box, this is not the camera for you. You’ll need to add something thicker behind the top bracket of the mount to achieve a steeper angle.Secondly, the locking twist and the durable gimbal arm are plastic and don't feel durable. They both feel like cheap plastic parts that will break easily if too much force is exerted upon them.Lastly, as another reviewer has stated, the plastic buckles are not durable and feel like they will break if compressed too tightly.CONCLUSIONThe inability to adjust the mount for steep angles and cheap plastic construction lead me to give the Moultrie Deluxe Camera Mount 3 stars. It will work very well for level or slightly inclined/declined shots, but steep angles won’t work without modification.

The Moultrie deluxe camera mount is everything they said it is. I can pin point my shots and tell what time the critters pass by so I can plan my photo shoot and not take all day to do so.. my camera mount did not fit on too my Moultrie m 880 had to call them and they sent me a adapter . It should be in the kit. No charge for it.

I've had a couple of these for about 3 years. The plastic buckles are starting to show severe wear and one has broken, but I guess that's not too bad for 3 years of being outside.Unless they've changed the design since, this will not work on the newer Moultrie cameras. The newer cameras have the more standard 1/4" mounting nut, but this is great for older Moultrie cameras that had a smaller (3/8"?) hole. You may need some sort of adapter for new cameras.All that said, it's way too big, bulky and awkward, especially when compared to the newer mini-cams. For about half the price you can find better designs.

Just as stated. many different ways to mount your camera with considerable movement. The threaded adapter for the back of the camera threads great into the camera but a little tuf to thread onto the screw. Still works fine though.

This mount makes aiming and adjusting the camera quick and simple. It's simple and affective. I have two of these mounts and they have worked well.

I am currently trying this out in my back yard before moving up into the woods. Directons are not as specific as one would like, but taking a little time will allow you to figure it out. Problem I have encountered is tightening all adjustable mounts so there is no movement in the camera.

simple and very easy to use and works with any camera and many mounting elelments. Very easy to adapt.and the same quality expected for Moultrie brand products..

Works as described, should be a camo pattern to be less obvious but happy with the purchase. The straps are not that great but they work, a small ratchet strap will work better.
