Daniel Smith is one of the better paints for artists. Good color and consistency.

Good color as a less blue alternate to Payne's gray. Mixing a tiny bit into other colors can dull them down a bit, which you want to create shadows without needing to mix a black.

Bought as replacement tube. Nice price. Paint quality is consistent.

I love these watercolors. The colors are so fresh and finely ground. Transluscent and fibrant. Plus they're made right here in the Pacific Northwest.

Buy the best quality watercolor you can afford. Daniel Smith is expensive so I buy one or two when I can afford to. For your basic palette i would recommend these paints

This is a very beautiful color that works well on its own or when combined with other colors. It mixes well with other brands and adds a shimmery sparkle to whatever you’re painting.
