I was going nuts looking at every projector screen on Amazon and other sites (for several months), and kept working my way up to $500-$1000 automatic screens. I finally took a step back, and thought about what I really needed / wanted. MY NEEDS: - Simple, idiot proof operation, for myself and guests - No hunting around for remotes - Lightweight for easy 1 person installation - Black Background for light blocking from background devices - High Reflection Rate (but not too bright) - 100 inch overall diagonal size - Something good enough for my 1080p / 3D projector - Attractive enough for my unfinished basement / rec. room - Nothing so expensive that I will get upset when my rowdy nephews break it - A good upgrade from a stretch fabric screen (that my nephews already got pool table chalk on) UNFOUNDED CONCERNS FROM OTHER REVIEWS: - Well packaged, no dents in boxes or case - No Strong Odor - No Wrinkle in the Screen SETUP: In my case, my basement is unfinished so I wanted the screen mostly tucked out of the way into rafters/ceiling joists. My ceiling is also on the lower side, so it was easy to hang / install myself. I ended getting some adjusting projector hanging brackets ($14) to make it a little easier to level. I also needed to mount the screen between the joists so I needed the brackets to move the project away from the wall. I have a 65” TV for everyday TV and Gaming. I needed the screen far enough out so that I could pull it down in front of the TV when I want a more immersive experience. TIPS: Maybe it goes without saying, but I was very careful to make sure the screen was as level as I could get it, and perfectly square with my projector and the wall behind. This way it stays in focus across the entire screen. I also had to move my projector to make sure it was centered on the screen. IMPRESSIONS (so far): I LOVE IT. MY WIFE LOVES IT. MY SON LOVES IT. We have already elevated our family movie nights, and I’m loving watching NFL Playoff games on a 100 inch screen while I write this review. It has met or exceeded my expectations on every level. I could not be happier with this purchase. RECOMMENDATION: Skip all the bells and whistles of other screens, get something that works right every time. Stop making yourself crazy and just get this screen.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I have little experience with projector systems. I have been involved with Home Theater since the early 90s but never lived with a projector system before. In my room with a moderate amount of light control, this screen is brilliant. I've been using it for just over six months and I still have moments where I am just completely immersed in the viewing experience. The higher gain of the screen makes it casually usable with the room lights on but sacrifices the deepest blacks even in full dark. With my projector and to my eyes, I get good contrast and visual depth but no one will confuse this with an OLED. Mounting was easy and it has been stable ever since. Even when left down for a week or more, the screen still retracts smoothly and fully. In my room, the screen covers the only window so being able to retract it to get my view back is a welcome option. If you have the screen in front of a window, you will need a blackout curtain or shade or you will wash out the picture when the Sun hits from the back. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. This screen has kinda spoiled me and now I want to upsize the other TVs now. If I ever feel the need to upgrade, I'll be sure to give Elite Screens another shot.

Screen is perfect for our movie nights. Was easy to hang and pulls down and rolls up easily.

Has a nice quality and sturdiness to it and movies have looked great. The screen pulls down easily but could be just a touch smoother for a 5 star rating.

I bought a sub $100 projector for my backyard pavilion so that we could have movie nights or to watch sports without spending a lot of money. Well the projector was better than I was expecting, but it came with a "screen" that was more like a bed sheet! It was really bad and had tons of wrinkles! So, since I didn't spend a lot on the projector I didn't want to go too crazy on the screen. Well there are a lot of them to choose from! Most of which are some Chinese knock offs that get mixed reviews. When I saw this one from Elite screens, which is very well known for their excellent screens, I was kind of shocked to see this one priced so low! Of course I pulled the trigger and bought it. All I can say is "WOW"! What a difference it made! My cheap projector's picture looks like I spent 4X as much as I did! Really, really good! I also like how the screen slowly retracts when you are finished using it! One thing I was concerned about was damage from shipping, which I have read could be an issue. Thankfully this one arrived in perfect condition! I have to give this Elite retractable screen a big 5 stars!

I wanted to get an automatic projector screen but this had better pricing

we over-researched and agonized over the decision about which screen to buy. Lots of reviews to read and ponder. Wondered how a screen at this price could be any good when many of them are priced so much higher. In the end, we went with this one and told ourselves "we spent enough getting the theater up and running, let's save on the screen and we can always replace it later if it's bad" Well, it isn't bad - it is great. After installing and watching just 1 movie on it, we are impressed and have no plans to replace it. Came right on time, and the packaging was fine. I was looking for any signs of being twisted or damaged, and my screen had no issues in the packaging or the item itself. Installation was super easy. There was maybe a slight odor when we first opened the screen, but nothing that distracted us from watching a movie right away and nothing we even notice now. We see no waves or wrinkles in the screen - it is flat and smooth and looks fantastic with our 1080p Viewsonic projector. We are using it in a dedictated home theater space, so we won't be opening and closing the screen. So I can't comment on wrinkles or the user experience if you are rolling it up and down. But in a dedicated (dark) space where the screen is kept open, it works great and we are so happy we saved the hundreds of dollars over other screens out there. happy consumers

Really pleased with this screen so far. I bought it for an outdoor pool party this summer, along with a cheap $150 DVD quality projector. I wasn't going for anything high end, just something to play some music videos on while the party was going on. After the pool party I also put some hooks in the ceiling in my kids' room (ages 2 and 4), and they love having little movie nights with huge movies playing in their room. It is a good distraction for them, especially when we have multiple families over with lots of kids, as they can have their own little movie room going separate from the adults. It is light and easy to move around between the two spots that I installed hooks, although I am 6'1" so that helps. My screen is pretty smooth and flat, I have to look very closely to find any kind of waves as others have reported. I guess each screen can be different, but I am happy with the one I got. Unless I look from the side with a light source at an angle, I can't see any waves. I certainly don't have any waves that I can notice looking straight at the screen or while watching a video, and after 6 months haven't noticed any changes. Maybe if I had a high end projector and this was my main source of tv or movie watching, then I would invest in a more expensive screen to be certain I had a very flat surface, but for my casual use this screen works great. It rolls up and down very smoothly, but makes sure to assist it back up and not let it go, or it will retract very quickly and violently. It does have the very strong "chemical" smell the first few days, but it has gone away now and I don't smell anything even using it indoors. Overall a very solid screen for the price.
