Nyko Intercooler STS for Xbox 360 Slim

Prior to ordering the Nyco intercooler, my XBox 360 would be almost too hot to touch after an hour or so of BF3. Now, the case is very cool. It seems to even be below room temperature if that is possible. I am going to test it with my laser thermometer and report back. You can feel all the hot air being expelled toward the front of the Xbox and away where it belongs. I have had less disconnects from online gaming and no system freezes since using it. Installation was a breeze, just snap it in over the vents on the top of the Xbox and plug it into one of the USB ports in the back. It automatically turns on and off depending on heat. It also will keep monitoring the heat after you shut the console down to allow it to fully cool faster. Pros: -Cost was very cheap, got it next day via Amazon for around $20 -Style, looks like it belongs there. -Quality, looks like similar materials that are used on the xbox itself -Performance, cools this thing down seriously Cons: -Can be noisier than just the internal fans. I play with TurtleBeach headset on and I can never hear it while playing though. Recommendation: They make note in the paperwork to periodically clean the dust that will accumulate inside the fan to keep it working well. If you have pets like I do, it will tend to get some fur and dust in there frequently, so take a look at it from time to time.

Obviously this is not a game but it does get 5 stars. I was having a problem with my Xbox actually freezing up from over heating. My short term solution was to use a regular table fan aimed at the unit. This, so far, is my long term solution. The intercooler attaches fairly easily. I felt like the instructions made it more complicated than it really was. All you really need to do is line it up with the slots and snap it into place then plug in the USB cable. I can definitely feel the hot air being blown out when the unit is on and my Xbox has not crashed since. It is temperature activated so it usually takes a little bit before it kicks on and will run after the Xbox has been turned off (although it has never run for more than about 3 more minutes). I don't find the fan to be loud at all. It is basically equivalent to a higher quality computer fan. Yes there is a hum, but it is quieter than a table fan and if you're playing games you probably won't even notice. However, I have not owned this unit very long. As with everything with a fan, I expect it will get noisier over time and eventually fail. But at this price, If I get 2-3 good years out of it I figure I will have gotten my money's worth. My one criticism is I actually would have put up with more noise for a little heavier duty fan. This one works but I feel like it could move the air a little better.

I played LA Noir for abt a hours and the benchmark is after the 3rd mission. For a physically demanding game like la noir this cools the roof of the 360. It’s louder than the standard 360 but it’s not terrible and if your playing headphones or speaker ur chillin. Also I noticed that the fan doesn’t turn on till in a game or downloading something. Idk if that’s an intended thing but pretty cool. All around pretty baller

There really isn't a reason not to get this. It's dirt cheap and will do nothing but wonders for your Xbox. Even though the newer Xbox is better in terms of heat doesn't mean it is perfect. Even with this external cooler it will not be perfect, but it definitely goes a long way in helping to keep the GPU (and other internals) from overheating. To give you an idea of what it does, I'm a pretty big Halo fan. When I play I'll play for a few hours and there are a few maps that are simply too detailed and can't be handled for long periods of time (especially when people start shooting and things start blowing up). Maps like Exile are notorious for this as well as any map if you decide to play split screen (ends with you trying to play at 5fps). Simply put, there's too much going on and the Xbox can't handle it when it's sitting at 90c. After installing the cooler (literally took seconds) I have yet to notice any frame drops. Split screen still acts a little funky at times, but playing solo is so much better now. The other nice thing is that the fan will continue running for a few minutes after you power the console off to help cool it down a little bit quicker. Pros: - Cool - Quiet - Easy Install - Helps with GPU frame drops - Cheap Cons: - It doesn't match my Halo Reach console. :P

Compre este producto hace unos días, porque mi xbox sufría de sobrecalentamiento y no quería tener que abrirla para modificara. Este Intercooler se acopla en la ranura de ventilación de manera muy fácil y rápida y regula la temperatura del interior expulsando el aire caliente y se nota la diferencia y mucho... ahora apenas se me calienta. Y puedo jugar sin preocuparme por el famosos anillo de la muerte. Es bastante silencioso y algo que me gusto mucho es que aunque apagues la consola sigue funcionando hasta que esta alcanza la temperatura optima . Tiene un acabado que se integra perfectamente en la xbox y sirve tanto en horizontal como vertical. Sin cables, ni instalaciones... un gadget que cumple lo que promete. Lo recomiendo totalmente y, merece el precio que vale.

Estoy muy satisfecho de ésta adquisición, mantiene ventilada la consola y se puede utilizar por lapsos prolongados de juego, además al apagar la consola aún sigue haciendo su función automáticamente si detecta calor en la Xbox

Excellent accessoire !!! Je l'utilise depuis longtemps déjà et marche toujours aussi bien. On pourra lui reprocher d'être un peu bruyant comparé au son normal du ventilo de la Xbox 360 S (uniquement le modèle S) mais c'est le prix à payer pour pouvoir caser sa console dans un meuble avec très peu d'espace pour l'aération. L'appareil s'éteint même après que l'on ai éteint la console histoire d'évacuer l'air chaud encore présent dans la console.

This is for my Xbox 360 S model. The intercooler fan fits this model. It is very easy to install and remove if you need to clean the dust out from long period of use. This is a black matte finish so it blended well with my matte finish Xbox. I highly recommend to have this if you plan to play long hours, leave your xbox overnight to download large file games, or in the room where is usually warm or hot. This may prevent overheating and may prevent the xbox to crash during long gameplay.

My consul was always overheating crashing my game I bought this and it works I am so happy with it
