Indoor Bonsai for Beginners: Selection · Care · Training Review: Very informative and great pictures! - I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who has been into growing bonsai gardens for sometime now. This book is GREAT for anyone who wants to know the basics of bonsai. It has very detailed pictures and illustrations on different plant types, how to train your bonsai (shape it), how to cut back the plants themselves, how to feed/water/care for it, and most importantly which plants do best in an indoor environment. He can't put the book down, and even though he was knowledgeable on the subject to begin with, he had no idea how much more this would help! Review: A Must-Have for the Beginning Bonsai Enthusiast - While not a comprehensive reference work, this book should still be on the shelf of every budding Bonsai enthusiast. It's pretty well packed with useful information about the care and feeding of a pretty wide variety of Bonsai trees, but one should have other reference books on hand to accompany this one. It does answer a multitude of common problems one encounters with many Bonsais varieties and how to deal with them. I heartily recommend this book.

Great book for beginners
This is a very good book for those just starting with the art of bonsai. The text is clear and concise. Photos are clear and beautiful. Instructions and illustrations are presented in an easy to follow manner. There is even a section in the back of the back (an A to Z of species)that describes the level of expertise needed for each species of plant so you can begin with a level you can handle. I would highly recommend this book, even to someone more advanced.

Excellent source for beginners
The first half of this book focuses on beginner bonsai techniques, and goes over styling, training, tools, pruning, etc. The second half of this book has 1-2 information-packed pages each on many of the most popular trees used for bonsai. While my favorite bonsai book for beginners would have to be Bonsai (101 Essential Tips), this is the runner up for best read. Highly recommended for beginners.

Indoor Bonsai For Beginners
I was looking for an instructional book on Bonsai. As I am a total beginner, I did not find this book useful for step by step instruction. However, if I was past this initial stage of beginner, it is useful for care advice on specific plants.

Start with this book
This book is great for beginners. I'm cared for plants and trees all my life and am an avid gardener, but likely would have killed my bonsai trees in the first few weeks without the simple and straight forward advise this book offers. There are strange nuances to bonsai that just are not like other plants and trees I've dealt with in the past.

Very informative
Easy read, lots of pictures. They put almost every kind of bonsai in there. Tells you how much light each needs, how to train them- I would highly recommend this book. It makes me want to get bonsai's I don't already have. I already knew some of the information, but it was good to get a refresher and learn things I didn't know

Basic indoor bonsai book
Great book if you know nothing at all about bonsai - especially indoor bonsai. Does lack a lot of basic information, but its strong suit is in depth discussion of most species and most styles of bonsai
