Good chicken coop.
This is a pretty nice chicken coop. Easy to assemble. A few issues with the construction: the roof trim piece was cracked in several places and the gang plank is cheap construction. The pull out drawer that’s used to clean is cumbersome if you use any straw or shavings. The roof is well covered and heavy wood. Overall a good coop for starter birds.

Total disappointment
We had high hopes for this coop for our 5 hens, but it has been one disappointment after another. The first thing to know is that it is very, very small--the right size for 2, maybe 3 chickens, but way too crowded for 5. My husband put the coop together easily enough and was overall pleased with the process, but structurally it started failing immediately. He had to prop bricks under the nesting box part because the bottom of it totally collapsed, and eventually the main coop itself needed brick reinforcement to keep the bottom from collapsing. Rain got into the nesting boxes early on, but my husband caulked it, and that helped. While I believe the claim that the coop is coyote- and fox-proof, it is definitely not raccoon-proof. Any raccoon could easily use the open seams to tear off the flimsy wood. Even with some customization (e.g., strong bungee cord to secure the top), I've lived in constant fear about the chickens' safety. I also keep a baited trap next to it and have already caught a raccoon, possum, and fox. Now that it's winter, the coop is drafty, with 1/8" to 1/2" inch wide gaps in it at various parts where the walls meet the floor. It's also really hard to clean, even with the top open--it's an odd angle and hard to ever get the right access. Six months later, we are buying a plastic shed and converting it to a much larger and more functional coop. That will give the chickens three times the square feet and will cost less than this one did. I'd definitely recommend shopping around before spending money on a coop you very likely will need to quickly replace.

Good enough
After researching coops, I’ve realized you will not find a coop that is super well made unless you build your own or have it custom made. However, this coop was better than most and is working great for us. It was relatively easy to put together, looks nice and fits my 6 hens comfortably. We sprayed the wood parts with waterproof spray as the wood is not treated. And yes a few of the boards splintered pretty quick but they are fine. If you want a coop without a lot of do it yourself and cutting and measuring, this is a good buy. I would purchase again.

Overpriced for flimsy cheap wood
It's smaller than what you think. In the pictures, you're thinking "Wow! That's a good size!" Nah! It's like 1/2 or 1/3 the size I mentally envisioned/thought it'd be despite reading the dimension sizes in front of me on the screen. As a first-timer to having chickens, it'll give you an idea of what's good/bad, but honestly, build your own! I know, if you're thinking "it'd be a good starter piece to learn from" the moment you start unboxing it, you're already going to regret buying it, especially for the price! Take the time, build your own out of better materials. The cedar wood might as well be bamboo! (Yeah, it's THAT cheap of material!) The design is nice & decently straight forward, but because of the scale of it/materials used to accommodate its size, flimsy as anything & will break so easily.

Easy to Assemble BUT Low Quality Materials
Overall, the coop is “ok”. The coop on its own 3 star product. The positives: it has an excellent design. There are several ways to access various parts of the coop. Additionally, it is very easy to assemble. It can be assembled by one person in a few hours. A second person helping can significantly reduce the time required for assembly. The coop can adequately house 6-8 chickens. It is quite portable. Fully constructed, I am guessing it weighs no more than 30-40 pounds. The negatives: It uses low quality materials. The boards/frame are very thin (weak) and could be broken by a small child. With that in mind, be prepared to protect and fortify the structure. We are making several modifications in hopes that the structure will survive wind, rain, and snow. Even with modifications, I am not sure how many seasons the structure will last.

My first chicken coop
I’ve had this coop for awhile now so I feel good about writing a review. It was fairly easy to put together, instructions were pretty clear. It was slightly miss made but it works, I love the fact that the roof opens up and the poop pan is a great idea but the house is a little miss made so the pan is hard to slide in and out. I think I have more chickens in it than it says it can hold but some are bantam breeds I have 13 chickens, 9 regular size and 4 bantam size. They have no problem all fitting inside the coop but most choose to roost on top of the coop at night. That’s fine because I have the coop setting up on concrete blocks and have built a tin shack around it to house the coop and all my fed buckets. I can’t really attest to the weather proofing because I did build a roof and walls around it for further protection from the elements. It’s been a good little coop for my purposes.

Attractive coop
We waffled on the price and buying online, but we are not savvy enough to build our own and this is way cheaper than getting someone else in town to make one. We already have an enclosure so this was perfect. We have 10 chickens and it is perfect. They took to the nesting boxes right away, and I love how easy it is to check for eggs. I especially like that you can pull out the bottom to clean the poop and dirty bedding. The assembly was pretty straightforward, took my hubby and son about an hour to assemble. The only problem was the bottom of one of nesting boxes kept falling down, but that was probably something my husband missed, and it was easily fixed with more nails. We love it.
