Da Rosario, Oil Truffle White Organic, 1.76 Fl Oz

I've been using white truffle oil as a healthy alternative to butter for about a year. I also like to buy organic products. This product has the delightful mild flavor of a fine Italian white truffle oil, with the added benefit of being organic. I use it to heat up rice, cook fresh or frozen vegetables and it's great on popcorn. Fortunately, because of its high cost, a little bit goes a long way. Once you open it, be sure and keep it refrigerated as it will spoil quickly. refrigerating will cause it to thicken but that's easily resolved by microwaving it for 20 seconds or putting the closed bottle in hot water. If you microwave it, be sure and cut off the little metal ring that the is the bottom of the bottle cap. It's easily removed with scissors. I also, for environmental reasons, like that it's packaged in glass and not plastic. For some ideas on how to use truffle oil you may want to check out the book "Truffles: Ultimate Luxury, Everyday Pleasure Truffles: Ultimate Luxury, Everyday Pleasure by Rosario Safina, the owner of the company that makes this particular truffle oil. I've not read the book or even looked at it but it's been reviewed byt 12 people at Amazon and ten people gave it five stars. The two people that gave it a bad review can be considered as outliers. One reviewer gave the book one star because he or she never got it from Amazon. That's a merchant complaint and not a product complaint. The other negative review stated that there were spelling and typographical errors and that was the sole purpose for the bad review. The ten remaining reviewers all give the book five stars so it's probably worth looking into if you're looking for ideas as to how to use truffle oil in a wider range of recipes.

I like this one a lot. I’ve just been sick with the flu for like a month. When I was getting better from the first flu, I got the flu again. I’ve never been so sick in my life and I’ve never had such a sore throat. I could only eat mashed potatoes from a box. They’re way better than you’d imagine. Anyway, I had this stuff because I like to put it on some soup. I used half the bottle on hungry jack instant potatoes while I was sick. These bottles are small and half a bottle wouldn’t measure out to a lot, but the flavor is really strong. So half a bottle in a few weeks is a lot. Anyway, I just wanted to tell people how sick I was and how I’m still recovering and how I can still barely eat. But this oil is really good. This is the kind I would get. Cheaper ones aren’t good. I also prefer this white truffle oil to the black truffle oil. I’ve bought it before and will buy it again.

The person I purchased this for was highly disappointed they said it tasted like rancid oil, no truffle flavor. I don't know if this was a bad batch or what not happy. UPDATE I repurchased this brand hoping this time would be different and it was. This second purchase turned out good and the flavor was nice. I added this to everything and it really blended well with other flavors. So the first purchase had to have went bad before I received it. I'm not sure if I got the second from the same seller.

After the holidays we decided to try and do the whole30 program. Found a lot of tastey recipes but some of my most favorite were salads. Then someone made me a special "paleo" friendly salad with truffle oil and it was amazing. After that I sought out organic truffle flavored olive oil at our local health food stores without luck. Seems it was too much of a specialty item that didn't really sell. Thankfully I was able to turn to Amazon to find it and I got a great deal on two! Now I can enjoy my salad and while maintaining a healthier lifestyle and not feel like I'm missing out!

The flavor is mild yet distinct. For a single serving dish, a drop or two works. Have kept in pantry per Rosario. Price is fair given the assurance of the quality (see their site) and taste. Buying again accompanying a wedding gift. (Edit Nov 2019: price doubled from $7ish to $14ish between Oct-Nov. Bought 2nd bottle prior to that.)

As a food buyer I always look at price per ounce. This is not an accurate description. This bottle is so tiny and it should be a 14 ounce bottle. I want my money back and there is no way to return. I will be reporting you if I do not receive a refund or a way to return.

The taste is not artificial but very authentic. I’ve tried many oils and cooked with real truffles to make my own oil. For the price you won’t find better oil.

I was hoping for more out of this product. It wasn’t bad, just not as flavorful than some other truffle oil products I have tried before.
