Silverstone Tek Nightjar Series 500-Watts Fanless 80 Plus Silver Certified ATX 500 Power Supply ST50NF

The was one of the best purchases i have made in some time, so far i have this, a passive cheap gt 730, a passive zalman fx100 (horrible to install but great when its done) and a silent series corsair case. This build was for my girl because her pc has a bad psu in it before that was loud no matter what you were doing and i mean loud like air conditioner loud... but now you literally cant even tell the pc is even on. I was so impressed that i am now making plans to build myself a passive silent gaming box utilizing the accelero cooler with an rx 470 and a passively cooled i5 6600 in the same case as her with this same power supply.I will say that YES there is gonna be some coil whine because this thing is being punished in her build by an old 95 tdp i5 that literally sits at like 80 watts thanks to its age. but other than that its great FYI the coil whine is barely noticble and completely unnoticable with the silent case so yeah its just wonderful to do use a powerfully fast computer with no noise to bother you in the back ground.10 stars if i could award it so!Silverstone, keep doing what you do! cause you doin it right!

Used this in my HTPC slim case to reduce the noise (PC sits 2 feet from my seat in the family room). Totally quiet, but when I touched the side of the PC, it was too hot to touch. Ended up returning it before it damaged the PC components. The HTPC case (Moneual 320) may not have sufficient air flow to cool the power supply, but this is the exact application where a quiet power supply is needed.

Just installed this beauty into an older rack mount PC.The aluminum frame is solid and the set of connectors were more than needed.Four screws bolted PS into place into the 3U case matched.Good documentation.

this is being used to power a HTPC. The quality of the construction was impressive. Works as advertised, no sign of heat problems.

I had the 450W predecessor to ST50NF and it's the best 0 dB power supply available.My power supply worked 24/7 for 3.5 years after which it silently failed. The computer froze and on restart the red LED would light up. The warranty is 3 years and no computer electronics were damaged.The power supply is the weakest point of a computer so this performance is good and actually one of my best power supply experiences to date. During the 3.5 years, I had a handful occasions of the computer freezing and bought powered USB hubs after the power on USB ports over time would shut off until restart.I would recommend this model because it has the LED indicators. It also seems to be good idea to over-dimension, since I pulled 360W out of a 450W unit and had occasional problems.I will buy this product again.
