Your worries are over!!!!! A collar that gets results!
If you have a stubborn dog, you've tried every training technique, you've tried professional training programs, and he'll still take off with no recall leaving you sick and worried for him for hours on end. The search is over. I have an extremely stubborn Malinois. He's taken off on me on countless times. I live in a very wooded area and he sees a deer, all training and loyalty to me is gone. But not after this caller. I've tried other sport dog collars before and he's run through the pain. This one stopped him dead in his tracks and left him running back to me. It's worth the money. Get it!!

Best Dog E-Collar
Sportdog is far superior to competitor models. I’ve owned and trained dogs for 40 years. I started with a pro Garmin model which was a great product BUT the remote was like carrying a brick in size, weight and was not 1/2 as ergonomic as the Sportdog. I have the Sportdog 1825X model which boasts a 1 mile range. The remote is 1/2 the size as the Garmin and all Sportdog 1825X components have held up to daily use on a GSP hunting dog. After such heavy use, Sportdog agreed to replace at no cost the remote because the stimulus selector dial no longer had positive position clicks. Depsite the remote still working and being almost 2 years old, it was replaced free of charge. Sportdog makes a great product, customer service is excellent, and they stand behind their product. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Pro tip, don’t skimp on cost, buy the model with distant range you/your dog needs.

Worth every penny
This little device has given my pup the freedom to explore safely, so it is absolutely worth every penny. I’ve had my 4 year old English Setter rescue for about a year and a half now, and we’ve had this collar for about four of those months. My pup has a very strong prey drive (surprise surprise) and LOVES to run. I have bought two previous e collars on Amazon that had good reviews and ended up being a complete joke. One of the collars even stopped working while my in-laws were watching her and she was lost for over four hours in lake country on the Fourth of July while I was across the country and helpless. ANYWAYS, all I can say is that the battery life of this collar is seriously amazing. We use it daily on walks, hikes, and when we go to the river and she swims. It has never been unresponsive, and our dog has learned to be more conscious of where we are while she’s running around (she even comes to check on us periodically before running again which I love). I cannot say enough about this collar. It has changed the game and made it possible for us to explore off leash, which has been my ultimate goal. THANK YOU

Significant Design Flaws, Inconsistent Output, and Unhelpful Warranty Support
I have invested a significant amount of money in various SportDOG systems over the years. Unfortunately, evaluating the long-term durability, performance consistency, and warranty support points to a product line I can no longer recommend. 1. Structural Design Flaw & Warranty Support: The belt clip on the premium SportHunter 1825X remote transmitter suffers from a design malfunction where it frequently works itself loose. Because of this defect, the remote detached from my belt and was lost. Instead of addressing the design issue, I was told over the course of a 20-minute conversation with customer service that a lost remote is not their responsibility. This creates an unfair catch-22 for the consumer: if the clip is faulty, it is highly likely to fail while you are actively walking, hiking, or hunting. If the remote drops off your belt in those environments, you won't immediately notice it is gone, making it nearly impossible to find. Yet, the company uses the resulting loss to avoid addressing the defective clip. 2. Poor Material Durability: Adding to the structural issues, the charging base for the SportHunter 1825X literally cracked open and fell apart while sitting completely undisturbed in a storage drawer. Furthermore, I also owned the FieldSentinel 1825. The health alert function on this model is located in the remote's antenna, and the antenna literally broke apart right in that specific area, further highlighting the unacceptable physical durability of these devices. 3. Inconsistent Calibration Across Models: After replacing the lost remote with the SportHunter 825X, I found the stimulation levels to be drastically different. A low level 2 setting on the 1825X yields a specific response from my dog, but I have to adjust the 825X up to a 5 or 6 to achieve the exact same baseline response. Because the model numbers are so close, it is entirely reasonable to expect just a step down in range, but the manufacturer fails to clearly document this massive drop in voltage output, which severely disrupts consistent training metrics. While the NoBark SBC-R collar functions adequately, the structural defects, inconsistent calibration between models, and policies that penalize the user for inherent design flaws make this brand a poor investment for serious training.

Excellent e-Collar
I’ve used the SportDog 850 collar for many years and it’s been a workhorse without any issues. This was purchased because I needed a bit more distance power for a new puppy that we’ll be taking though longer Field Trial stuff and I wanted to make sure that if she got out 500-700 yards, I could control her. Size wise it was a bit larger than the 850 both for the controller and the collar receiver. But not as large as the Dogtra or Garmin. I ordered all three and the two I really liked was this one and the Garmin Pro 550. The Dogtra Edge RT was nice but I didn’t like the controller. It had hard edges in the palm of your hand while holding it. Where the Garmin was very comfortable and smooth along with grippy. The two main reasons I went with SportDog was my experience with the 850 I had and the reviews on the Garmin that weren’t indicating it being well made and having issues. I also like the smaller controller than either the Garmin or Dogtra. I really like the 850’s controller and receiver size for when we’re out not hunting or training. If we go to dinner or to the park, it’s nice and small and makes it easy to keep the controller in your pocket.

If your dog is a runner, get it!
Great range on this model. It is some bigger and more costly, but very worth it for the functionality.

The antenna snapped in half while I was putting on my backpack. Contacted the company and they would replace it for nearly $80. $35 American shipping fee. I regularly get things shipped from the states. It’s expensive. But $35usd for something half the size of a pen! And something that really shouldn’t break that easy on something built to be outside. I use a cheap Chinese model for my other hunting dog, it doesn’t have the range, but I’ve had it longer and it’s built MUCH sturdier… and cost less than replacing the tiny weak antenna on this one. Replacing parts in the US seems easy enough but keep in mind this thing isn’t built to last and replacement parts are ridiculous to get a hold of in Canada. I WOULD REALLY CONSIDER THIS IF LOOKING AT PURCHASING A REMOTE DOG TRAINER IN CANADA for use outdoors especially.

In this review, you will find no bad comments about this product because I didn't have any! I purchased this product 3 years ago and used it almost every day at that time. This collar has been used in some cold and harsh environments and conditions but it still worked and performed as it should. My dog is a water dog and spends most of her time in the water so this tested the collar against water in all aspects as my dog even dives down to around 3ft, fresh water, salt water, and summer Temps to winter Temps below freezing this collar did not fail. Just recently I lost the remote and had it gone from September to April, yesterday as I was walking my dog down a path from my cabin I noticed something on the ground covered when I picked it up it was the lost remote! This remote has been through the whole fall, all winter covered in snow and freezing temperatures then through most of the spring with all the rain this remote has been through it all and still when I picked it up it had charged and worked I was SHOCKED! It is what made me write this review, this product works as advertised and performs above the others, if you are looking for a collar for your dog look no further this is the brand to get!
