Previous unit was a top rated Atoto, I changed from my Kenwood due to Android Auto continually disconnecting after an update 12 months ago, I'd hoped that an Android OS unit might help with this. Steering Wheel control set up was temperamental, whenever the sun came out the system started to continually reboot or just shut down, apparently a common fault in this sort of unit because there is no casing, fan or heat sink - seems ridiculous to design a car head unit that doesn't work if the car interior gets hot becuase the sun came out, standard headunits don't have this problem, maby forums suggest buying a fan and finding a way rigging it up. Finally the Atoto DAB adapter did not have the standard arial connector many manufacturers in-built arial and I had to buy a Hikity adapter instead. The Xtrons unit looks like a proper head unit, has a full casing and heat sink. SWC control set up was easy with just the Key1 wire connected and the App worked 1st time. You will need a DAB adapter, but the pre-loaded app works well with the Hikity unit I already had. Android Auto works with both wired and wireless connections. The only drawback with this unit over the Atoto is that there is less space for all the wiring because the Xtrons has a full casing, but its a minor issue to deal with if you want something that actually works

Having an older car with no Android Auto, this is a great option to drag an older double DIN vehicle into the 21st Century! Have had other products from XTRONS and the build quality is good. Easy enough to fit, just a case of taking your time to run any accessory cables neatly, the basic unit fit would be fairly straight forward, with just a few connection cables to attach, though not as easy as some vehicle specific units have fitted before, which just plug straight into the existing connection block. The screen connected really easily to my phone, bringing Android Auto to the car on the clear screen. The screen is responsive enough to touch so that all works easily; with the unit having 4gb & 64gb it is fine for smooth functionality It comes with 4G and GPS antenna, along with a 2 x USBs port for the wiring cluster, which can be used for a DAB dongle, to go with the DAB app on the unit, along with other accessories available from XTRONS. There is a SIM slot in the wring cluster, if required Decent upgrade for an older vehicle, if you can’t find a vehicle specific unit, which XTRONS do a good range of, which are very easy to install.

Excellent quality screen that's a perfect update for the out-dated screen in my Mitsubishi. It means I can at least stop using my phone on a magnetic mount. Fitting is a bit of a challenge of course, but the kit provided is highly comprehensive. Instructions in the kit and online are very helpful.

this is an android car stereo from the brand xtrons, it's a double din device that universal fit to any car model with standard double din space available, the unit is equipped with a 7 inch ips touchscreen, a massive upgrade to my old car with a fm/cd stereo not minute job to install but quite straightforward, literally re-plug iso harness and matching cable for corresponding functions will do the job thie car stereo supports both apple carplay and android auto, i can link my phone wirelessly; it built in 4g lte for mobile connectivity, also work as a 4g hotspot for my family in journey, i hope the sim card / usb slots are somewhere accessible from the front, so i can change pay as you go sim and usb devices easily basically the user interface very similar to android tablet, intuitive to use, carplay and voice assistant supported, easy to use, very smooth navigation and responsive touch screen there are loads of built in audio and video apps, it's more than enough to me, i use the built in fm and music player the most, the carplay covered my apple music library as well all in all, i'm satisfied with this product, would recommend

Wiring completely wrong

I chose this car stereo because I wanted something faster and more modern for my dashboard and it has been a very impressive upgrade because the system runs smoothly thanks to the octa core processor and the 4gb ram and it starts almost instantly, which makes everyday use much more convenient. I really appreciate how easy it is to use wireless carplay and android auto because switching from navigation to music is very simple and the option for screen mirroring is a nice bonus when I want to display apps directly from my phone. The 7 inch screen is quite ok when it comes to the image quality, colourful and easy to read even in strong daylight and the touch response feels quick and accurate. I like that it comes with global 4 support as well, so I can stay connected by inserting a sim card, which is very useful on long drives. The audio quality is also decent, the dsp chip gives cleaner sound and lets me adjust the music exactly how I like it. The interface feels modern and customisable and I enjoy switching the themes depending on my mood or driving needs.

Easy to set up and fit and looks good once fitted. Touch screen quality is good and responsive to light touches. I've not noticed any lag or delay and the android auto settings work well (I can't confirm the same for Car play as I'm not an Apple user).
